  1. They've got a couple of close hotels that they give you a deal at.
  2. I stayed in a hotel with my fiancé. Good time to watch a bunch of movies.
  3. I would stay longer if you have the option, I don't think I would've been comfortable enough to fly 2 days after. I'm in Edmonton.
  4. Youre welcome to pm me or phone me if you'd like.
  5. I live in Alberta and just had my surgery in TO with Dr. Cobourn on Aug 24. Make sure you don't have to lift your bag, roller only. Is your surgery wed or Friday ? You have to stay at least 2 nights after the surgery. If its planned for Friday then you'd arrive Thursday and the soonest you could leave is Sunday. That's a long flight, and sitting puts pressure on your stiches, I'd honestly stay an extra day if you can. Driving sucks because of the angle you're at so definitely take a small pillow with you to be between you and the seat belt... And if you need to cough. Where do you live in Alberta?
  6. Do you think it's ok to have a small amount of pasta during the soft food stage?

    Pasta As A Soft Food?

Lol, it's weird how nervous you get about eating.
  8. I was told that since caffiene is a diuretic to limit the intake to 8oz per day. They want you really well hydrated before surgery and caffiene can counteract that.
  9. Both my arms have been 'asleep' for hours and I don't have full feeling in my hands. (everything is tingly) I've tried lying down and sitting up and getting my arms massaged. I didn't take a painkiller for the last 7 hours incase that was the cause. Can someone tell me if this is normal? Any suggestions to get rid of it?
  10. That's a good idea, I think I'll try that when I get home.
  11. I called and they said to give it a couple of hours and then call back to say if it was less, the same, or more. It's now gone away.... I guess I worried for nothing.
  12. It's still there. I broke down and had some codein 1.5 hours ago. The feeling is either a little less, I'm getting used to it, or the codeine is slightly masking it but they're both still 'asleep'. I'm going to call the doctor in the am.

    August Roll Call

How do I join the group, had surgery today. I'm in pain but the painkillers help, they're supposed to knock me out but here I am again...... Wide awake. I know I don't know any of you (1st post was last night) but it helps to know someone is thinking of me and reading my thoughts.

    Pre-Op Doubts: Help!!

I'm totally freaking out too... (surgery this friday). Will I get nerve damage? Will I permanently ingure my stomach? Will I have a bump on my stomach where the port is? Am I never going to be able to eat some foods again? Or drink a glass of Water in one sitting? Or have a Fresca? Is everyone going to know? I feel bad that your boyfriend is not being more supportive. Spark
  18. And nervous is an understatement, I'm really scared.
  19. I'm from Alberta getting banded this Friday in Ontario. I'm really nervous.
