I'm seeing Dr. Geiss in syosett Long island. Good luck.... It seems I have quite a process ahead of me though.

Hi Alisha I'm asha. I'm in NY and I had health plus. I ha my first consult with the surgeon yesterday and I was told that health plus is now called amerigroup and that office doesn't take that. Theybtold me I should call Medicaid and change from health plus to HIP. I did that and I'm now waiting on my new l cards. I have to do a six month monitored diet. What doctor are you going to?

Lol sorry guys i was rushing to the point. I'm in NY and I have HIP medical insurance. I was just wondering if anyone else may have that as well and can give me some insight or advice. I had my first consultation with a surgeon today. I have to do the 6 month monitored diet and have to see so many other doctors to get clearance. It has been quite a roller coaster of a day. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi everyone... I have my first consultation tomorrow with the surgeon. I have health first with Medicaid. One requirement so far that I needed was a referral from my pcp, which I obtained. I have a BMI of 38 and I have high blood pressure, just wondering if anyone out there in lap band world can give some advice. Thanks

I contacted dr. Gerber's office and they wouldn't take my insurance which is health plus with Medicaid. I then contacted Dr. Geiss is syosset.... And my first consultation is on Tuesday 7/31. The staff has been very helpful so far.
