  1. I also had my surgery in Mexico but a different doctor. I was not alone but just giving my opinion... I think it can be done alone. I would recommend trying to pack light and in something wheeled. At the airport, you can tell them that you would like assistance at your destination and they will contact your destination airport and meet you with a wheel chair and push you to wherever you need to be. That was the only physically difficult part of the trip for me was walking through the airport.
  2. I might be the odd one out but I am saving. Not huge amounts but some. I even buy some more expensive things than before(like the individually packed chicken breasts) but since I'm only eating 1/2 a breast for dinner, it lasts so much longer. I just in the last month got on track after 2 years (embarrassing) of not utilizing my band properly. I bought what I felt would be 2 weeks of groceries and at the end of the 2 weeks I still had so much food left. The protein powder was an added expense and quite pricey ($50) but it will last forever because it's huge and I don't use a whole lot of it. The cereals, crackers, frozen dinners and those type of prepackaged things were a big part of my grocery budget before and now I don't buy hardly any of that. Just this week I made chili and it would normally last us 2 days but it's lasted all week and I threw some out because I was just tired of it.
