  1. I am 17 days post op and since day 1 I have experienced numbness, pins and needles, sharp shooting pains and hyper sensitivity in my upper thighs and buttocks. I have also experienced an extreme lack of energy. I am a restaurant manager by trade and work on my feet all day so even at my heaviest I have always had plenty of energy. I attributed this to surgery, lack of protein, sitting more than usual, etc.... But today I started doing some research and came across peripheral neuropathy. I am going to see my surgeon tomorrow but was wondering if anyone on here has experienced any of these symptoms.
  2. BCBS was very helpful when I called them myself. Do yourself a favor and stay on top of it yourself with your ins company.
  3. How bout getting "winded" while drying your legs after a shower or tying your shoes. And does anyone else have the "good" mirror that they look in vs the other ones in the house. I have one that I look 25 lbs lighter in. I will be happy not have to seek out that mirror.
  4. I have a 2 week pre-op diet. 3 shakes a day and 2oz of shrimp or chicken. It's funny how so many dr.'s are just a little different. Looking forward to starting mine on the 15th. Got my count down calendar ready!
  5. August 29th is my date! Can't wait. Start my pre-op diet this Wednesday the 15th.
  6. I have been reluctant to tell anyone outside of my immediate family for this very reason. I don't care to be judged by people who can never understand what it is like. It is a shame that I feel like I can't share something that I am so excited about. Oh well, that's what this forum is here for.
  7. I am so frustrated the insurance person in my Dr.'s office. I have been waiting for 15 days for approval from BCBS for what I was told only takes an average of 4 days. I even called the Dr.'s office at 10 days from when they said they submitted the paperwork. Last friday the woman in the office said she was surprised that she hadn't heard back yet. Well I went ahead and called the insurance company directly yesterday only to be told that they just received the information from the Dr.'s office on the 6th. TWO DAYS AGO. Bottom line, it's YOUR surgery so own the process from start to finish. I should have.
  8. Can't wait to get asked that question!
  9. Congrats Clara. Been there and it sucks. Can't wait till the first time I get to experience that. Great NSV.
  10. August 15th for me. Dr. David Rau in Houma La. Exactly 100 pounds to lose. I'm 44 and have fought this since I was 22. Soooo ready to do this. Ready for my high bp to drop and my reflux to go away as well!
