Attention ! Australian Sleevers
Hi ladies and gents, seeking post sleevers to past on their wisdom and any advice!! So my surgery date is this coming Tuesday and I'm trying to get prepared as much as I can....so I have some questions if you could kindly give your opinions:-) Firstly, *What essential personal items did u take or wish you had packed for hospital? *My doctor says I will be in for 1 night- I was expecting longer? How many nights were you in for? *Dr says its very important NOT to vomit after surgery, but some have posted they vomited within minutes of waking? Did you? *What antacids can/do you use? *What Protein shakes do you use post op? I have read Optifast is no good post-op. *I have read some have had a 'last meal' the night before surgery. (I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not) Did you have a last meal and what was it? I read one post had KFC!! O_o Lol. *Anything essential you think a pre-op SHOULD know before going in? Thanks guys!! You are all an amazing support system, I look forward to reading your replies! :-)

So glad to hear you are up and about and not in too much pain. I know I will be mourning the way I used to eat- I do that now already! Watching my family eat huge dinners last night an big breakfast this morning -as I was sipping away at my celery and ginger juice an a black tea:-/ I think what you are going through is completely normal for everyone to experience. Hopefully they can give you something for the dry mouth too. Hoping you are feeling well enough to go home soon, sending you health and wishes for a speedy recovery!

This is so weird, I have been trying to call my surgeons office for 3 days and no answer! I'm trying to make final payment for my surgery and book it in formally for the 11th September but have now missed the cut off! The receptionist I spoke to last week said she was away this week- however they still had the other receptionist on so call back on te Monday an we will book u in. Guess maybe not!!

Stay strong!!! You can do this! Believe me I know how hard it is, I was craving chocolate the other day so I had a sugar free hot chocolate- probably not a great thing I do but it has no sugar, didn't raise the calories above 700 and stopped me from buying the real thing. Sometimes you have to weigh the good with the bad. But u will get through this:-) I told my ex mother in law today....if I have surgery on the 11th September I'm going to need her to look after the girls- all my family will b in Vegas from the 8th. She gave me a very disapproving look, said 'hmmmmmm well that seems drastic' I guess she hates 'elective' surgery as she battled breast cancer almost 10 years ago.

Aw cookeeeeez that just sucks!!! Urgh, so frustrating for you! My sister said that this is a blessing in disguise as my back is killing me making it so hard to concentrate- let alone sit at a computer- and with the end of year school hols I will have the girls home for like 7 weeks. So she said just concentrate on your health, get sleeved, rest up after surgery and then you can start again next year. She thinks I was piling too much on my plate- haha, I do that literally as well! Lol. Puppyphat....don't give up!!!! I have been on my own for 7years with my girls, youngest just 11months when he left. I finally got a job and worked my way up to a managers position. Got a duplex, car loans, school fees, bills bills bills! I also got no quality time to spend with my children. So I decided to give it away, work part time- which I more like casual at the moment, and study full time online. I'm at home when they need me, take then to school, pick them up...sure we live by the skin of our teeth, and some nights after they have been fed, the only thing left in the fridge is puff pastry (I kid you not, I cooked 2 sheets of puff pastry and found some old Kalhua left over in the fridge- no milk to even mix it with, which was probably a good thing!) but the point is, I am around more and I am (trying) to fulfil a dream as well. Dreams are meant to be chased, meant to be fulfilled!! I didn't think I would take this path until they were grown up, but where there is a will, there is a way!! Send you both light and love xx- Attention ! Australian Sleevers
Thanks Ladies. I knew it was going to be tough, but I was hoping I'd be tougher!! Clearly not. I found out today that because I deferred an exam (I'm full time student plus working part time. I hurt my back and have been in a lot of pain, no work and doc said no exams as I can't sit for 2 1/2 hours) I have missed out on placement for my bachelor of nursing. So now have to wait till 2014. I left a high level job to do this in 2013 an now it's all shot to sh*t. I can't explain my frustration and disappointment. After spending hours crying and trying working out what the hell I'm going to do now- all I wanted to do was eat!! Worst news professionally at the worst possible time. :-(- Explain Your Name!
My first name starts with a K and my middle name starts with an R. My family call me KR as a nickname. When I went to chose my email address around 12 years ago, all the KR's and related names were taken so I decided to spell it instead. (K) Kay ® argh- I spelt it 'argh' as I was getting frustrated at the time because every name I wanted was taken. Now Kayargh is almost a daily part of my life! Lol.- Attention ! Australian Sleevers

- Surgery Set For Sept 11Th... Only 3 Protein Shakes A Day! Help!
Ha! We just might be sleeve buddies! I too am 3 shakes a day with a weightloss goal of 5-10kg (times 2.2for lb) but if I don't reach it I have to weight till 9th October! So I am struggling too. I am at the end of my fourth day and have already succumbed to chicken and veg tonight. But staying focused on the prize!! I am allowed unlimited non starchy veg so plan on making some soups to last me through. Good luck!! You CAN do this!! - Attention ! Australian Sleevers
