I'm not really dieting, just eating a LOT less and I'm staying away from junk food. I was counting calories but my nutritionist told me yesterday that I should focus on portions instead of calories. I eat one cup of food total during meals. Sometimes I eat a Protein bar for lunch while at work. I always make sure at least half of my food is a protein. I'm still trying to find the right formula, guess its different for everybody.
I forgot to ask if I was ok to exercise when I was at the doctor's so I will call them today to find out.

Thanks. I have my 1st fill appointment on 08/30. If I continue this way, I might not need a fill right away.

I had my last pre-op appointment on 07/19/12 and I weighed in at 381. That's when I started my diet for the surgery. I had my surgery on 08/01/12 and just went to the doctor yesterday (08/14). I weighed in at 353. That's 28 lbs!. So 28 down, 122 lbs to go until I reach my goal of 230. I already went down two pant sizes. I'm supposed to have my 1st fill appointment in two weeks but if I continue this way, I might not need it. With the band the way it is, I'm eating 1 cup of food per meal. I'm excited.

Its been about 12hrs since my surgery. I had hiccups for a few minutes but other than that, I haven't had any other issues. (besides the general pains of surgery). Been walking around the hospital floor and I haven't had any nausea. All they are giving me is ice. So far so good.

I'm 36 year old male and I've been struggling with my weight all my life. My insurance has been paying 100% for this surgery for a while so I finally decided to do it. I first saw my doctor on May and I have my surgery scheduled on August 1st.
I'm currently on the high Protein, low carb pre op diet but it is difficult. I'm a large man - 6'4" and a large frame - so I've always been a big eater. I'm currently at 381 lbs and my doctor tells me my ideal weight is 230lbs.
I'm on day 3 of the diet and I'm really having a hard time. Been trying Muscle Milk but I often get light headed and I also have a slight head ache. I'm only on the 3rd day of the pre-op diet and I'm already having issues. Is this normal? I've been to a few grocery stores but all they seem to have is Muscle Milk. What other options are there?
I'm just really afraid that I'm not going to be able to do this. I've done diets before and lost 100lbs just to gain it all back. I also have the bad habit of scarfing down food. From what the nutritionist said, that is a big no-no.
