I got the letter two days ago. I should be eating better, healthier, smaller portions.... no drinks with meals. no fat foods. I should have been preparing better instead of just 'in my head'. i know i have to start drinking shakes and eating better. has anyone else started late on changing habits?
so now is the real test. can i really stop drinking liquids before and after meals? will i be able to cut out my favorite carbs? can i do a liquid diet for two weeks at a time? i don't know! and now i get feedback from loved ones that say "dont do it!" "are you sure about this? you know how WE eat?" i've been known to be a 'quitter' in my own right. i am guilty of this from time to time. but i do understand the severity of what i am doing. i know the consequences of my actions from here on out.
i dont want to fail at this and somehow gain my weight back. i have not heard stories of that yet, is it because it's too new of a surgery? i know in my nutritional classes most of the people getting a lap band or sleeve were there for revisions of a surgery gone bad (not the surgery but ther person gained the weight back). i dont want that to happene to me. i'm scared of that!
this is all new for me, in my head i want a healthly lifestyle. i want to be healthy. i want to success with thsi surgery. i knwo it is only aa tool to use to help me, i cant expect to do nothing! i have to do the two things that i could never do on my own: EXERCISE AND EAT RIGHT!!
can i do this? YES I can. i believe in visualization. i see myself thin and happy and enjoying life as it should be. not to be confined by my body image and the restraints of being morbidly obese.
i think if u r registered on this site, we have email/chat available. i would like to chat with anyone, but i may not have answers, im a newbie. try sending me a nessage thru here.
i'm with u! waiting for insurance approval. i am also getting excited reading the success stories. i want to be one too! right now i am having difficulty NOT drinking my water with meals or too soon before n after. its hard. also difficult exercising regularly. but onward we go, no looking back...
wow! sounds like my life story! thank u so much for sharing! i too think that way about good.... like i will miss it dearly (especially breads and sweets). i am praying that those cravings go away and will be replaced with the healthy foods that i love (salads and fruit, salmon, veggies)
how does that saying go?? "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"....
I think I'm mist nervous about hanging skin. And giving up things I love for a better body. Of course I will be getting healthier. Right now I am diabetic, have bad knees, high cholesterol, varicose viens. And risk of everything else that comes with morbid obesity.
One sister say YES and one sister says NO. I keep hearing, "you can do it on your own", "you haven't even tried yet". I am trying to walk more and swim more, but this body is difficult to move.
Any words of wisdom out there??
