  1. Just had 6 month checkup and iron is low (has been my whole life). They suggested supplements but they totally constipate me. Aside from getting more iron from food, does anyone know of a supplement that doesn't clog the plumbing?
  2. I've lost 85. One pound to ONEderland! I'm so excited!
  3. Hi Sleeve Friends! I was sleeved in Sept. 2012. I just passed my 7 month date. All of a sudden last week it was as if a switch was flipped and my hunger returned in full force. Here's the worst part: when I eat, it doesn't really go away. It feels like the food isn't getting to where it needs to go to quell the hunger - if that makes sense. The good news of course is that I can't continue to eat, but I'm left feeling still hungry. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas/suggestions?
  4. I'm 5'8", 37 y.o. had surgery 9/2012. Starting weight 285. Current weight 200.5 (SO close to ONEderland!!) No problems with loose skin yet - but I have about 50 more lbs. to go. Good luck!! And don't worry about it. Loose skin is better than 100 extra pounds! Trust me, you'll prefer the extra skin!
  5. OK I can't subtract wishful thinking! I'm down 83 lbs. But SO close to ONEderland!!
  6. Congratulations! I had surgery 9/4/12 at Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove. Dr. Wallace was my surgeon. I am down 87 lbs. The surgery went smoothly, the hospital staff was wonderful.
  7. Surgery date 9/4/12. Highest weight: 285, SW: 274, CW 218. Down 67 total.
  8. I've started back to the gym doing hour-long intense group fitness classes. I'm about 2.5 mos. post-op. I feel like my appetite has returned with a vengeance. Anyone else experience this?
  9. I'm having an interesting and sometimes frustrating trial and error journey with food. I was sleeved 9/4. I can eat pretty much anything as long as I eat slowly and take small bites. I am finding that sweets taste MUCH sweeter than they used to and my old favorite ice cream makes me really nauseous. Which makes me both happy and sad at the same time ;p If I eat too much or too fast I either get the slimes and/or puke it back up. Even if it's just drinking Water. It also seems my stomach does not like anything too greasy anymore. Again, I think that's a good thing You'll figure it out. Everyone's different. Congrats and best of luck!
  10. My first month went pretty slow. I couldn't understand it since I was barely eating. I lost 11 lbs in the week pre-op, then lost
  11. I hiccup all the time while I'm eating and after I'm done. I know I'm full when I feel pressure at the top of the stomach and/or my right nostril starts running. (I know. Weird) ;p. And be careful! Never trust a fart!!
  12. Sleeved 9/4 down 37 lbs. Hit stalls at weeks 4 and 5 but moving again. Hopefully it keeps on moving!
  13. I'm 5 weeks out and started coffee last week. It seems like the caffeine is making me more hungry. Anyone else have that issue?
  14. When I wake up in the am I'm totally hungry - I think. Because I'm not yet sure the difference between hunger, thirst and gas ;p but when I try to eat my stomach won't let much in. I could only get down 1/3 of a hard boiled egg this morning. It gets better around lunchtime. So for me, yes it seems super-tight in the morning.
  15. Thanks for all this info and insight guys. I'm 4.5 weeks out and have been at a stall for 2.5 weeks. So frustrating! I am so glad I have the sleeve because if I didn't, at this point I'd say forget it and go to Burger King I think maybe I'm having too many carbs and not enough Protein or liquids so I'm going to switch it up and see if that helps. I'm down 27 from pre-op diet, but as I said no movement in 2.5 weeks. I started getting worried this morning that this was going to be another failure for me. I know I need to hang in there, and I appreciate all the encouragment from all of you other sleevers
  16. Love all the names. I might go with "Belle" short for "Belly-Belly". Don't ask. I don't know. That's just what I've been blurting out when I'm like "Belly-Belly calm down!" or "Belly-Belly what's wrong?!" lmao.
  17. Sleeved 9/4! Eating pretty much anything but very very slowly. Haven't had any beef or pork but have had some small bites of chicken and turkey. Today had Jennie-O turkey deli meat with a tsp. of guacamole rolled up in it - yum! But go slowly. Down 28 lbs since pre-op diet. I've been at a stall for 2 weeks too, but I know it'll eventually come off. Averaging 700-800 kcal/day.
  18. Ok. I'll be checking for a temperature. I feel fine otherwise. I appreciate you all being here to calm my nerves. Everything seems scarier at night, doesn't it? and I promise, no more manual labor. For a while anyway
  19. Thanks guys. You've made me feel better. I'm sure I'm fine. Over-active imagination. :/
  20. I'm 18 days post-op and I cleaned out the garage today. I lifted a couple of heavy things and I'm now feeling some pain/pressure in my lower left abdominal area. I'm totally freaking myself out that I've burst some of the staple line or something else they sewed in there. I'm going to see how it feels in the morning. How do you know if you've got a leak? Or if you pulled out a stitch somewhere?
