Hair Loss After Surgery
Hair loss is starting up again post 4 months. Darn, and I thought it was quick and dirty around month 3 for 3 weeks. Oh well, part of the hair loss club again. I am actually not that concerned about hair loss, maybe because I'm a guy. I know it will come back again. .

Middle Night Headache And Throwing Up Feeling
It is 2 am and l have the dull headache that will not go away,, sore, achy and slight throwing up feeling. Drank like 64 oz right before bed ( crazy, I know). Not sure why I drank so much, but I was thirsty and I though what the heck.. So naturally I have to make my middle of the night trip to the bathroom. After getting back which seems like a very long time i get the rolling headache that won't go away. Also achy and mouth is dry. So I drink a small cup (3 - 5 oz) of Water. Shortly after I get the refreshing feeling flowing over where my headache was. A few minutes later the headache is back and I have a little more nauseous feeling like maybe I will throw up ( defn know what that feels like over and over again LOL). So now I go get a life water and drink a few ounces think that maybe I watered down my mineral state with the 64 oz before bed. Feeling a little better now, but headache is returning again. I am going to keep drinking the life water to see if the headaches and throwing up feeling goes away. Do you think this is case of dehydration, mineral dilution or both? Any suggestions?

Water And Stretching Sleeve
- Water And Stretching Sleeve
Ok, does anyone know if drinking an excess amount of water? I have seen both arguments for and against this hypothesis. I honestly am not able to find some accurate information on it. I have between 100-125 oz a day. I am not classifying this as an excessive amount, but want to know how much you would have to drink before running into potential stretch scenarios. I can drink 32 oz in under 5 minutes, no issue. I am about 4 months out.- Hair Loss After Surgery
I only eat protein and eat about 25 ounces for each meal at 6 meals a day. That actually works out to be more than 125 oz a day, more like 150 oz a day. I have to say that all this protein costs quite a bit and my wife is constantly reminding me that I am eating more money post op then pre op. LOL! One thing to keep in mind is that 3 oz solid protein really helps with hunger for almost 3 hours at a time. At least that is the way it works for me.- Whats Wrong With Me?/
I asked my surgeon today about taking 2 PPI to deal with hunger today. He said taking more PPI does not help with hunger at all. This Saturday I have a monthly support group where I am going to ask the NUT about my daily calorie intake. At 4 on this I am still basically consuming 600-900 calories a day, still mostly Protein and low carb/fat. I am not starving or even that hungry, but I do notice wanting some food every 2.5 hours and need to pep talk to myself to hold out another 30 minutes to hit the 3 hour schedule. It has been ok so far, no grazing yet.- Seeking Advise On Coworker Lunch This Week
It actually went really really well. The topic of weight loss did not even come up it was a total shocker to me- Vsg, Auto-Immune Disease And Complications
My wife was originally planning on having WLS (specifically VSG) after watching my successful recovery with relatively minor complications and successful weight loss. She was going to wait 6 months after my post op to see how things are progressing for me before making a decision to attend a WLS consulatation. Regardless, her latest decision is to not have WLS for a couple reasons. 1. Slimes and throwing up: She didn't like all the slimes and throwing up I went through when adjusting to the solids phase. It was mainly my fault because I am a fast eater and it took me a while to learn to "hear" the full signals. I had to learn how much to eat, how fast to eat and what types of food my sleeve an tolerate over time. Regardless, she didn't like seeing me in the bathroom so much after eating. I am better now, but still have issues with eating stringy things like roast bean or string green Beans in addition to fatty meats. Truely, it feels like dumping syndrome. I do try to explain to her that not everyone slimes and throws up and most of the time, it was my fault. 2. Auto-immune disease: She has at least 1 auto-immune disease. The one that she has requires an infusion of remicade every 6 weeks. This is one expensive infusion. It is called Ankylosing Spondylitis. You can follow the link for more details. It is basically an auto-immune disesase that attacks all the joints and there is no cure. When we talked to the surgeon during one of my pre-op visits, he said that people with auto-immune diseases might have more complications, but did not go into the details. She might also have PCOS. We do not know yet and will find out soon. This is where I could really use some advise from others. She has about 150 lb to lose as we both ended up in the same weight range at our heaviest earlier this year. Maybe it is because of life stresses? Who knows. The fact is that her extra weight may be contributing to other complications like high blood pressure, pregnancy issues, lack of desire to be outdoors like walking and hiking and on and on. There are plenty of reasons here alone that would make sense for her to consider it. She has tried manu diets (as I have), but has never lost more than 10-20 lbs on them. Atkins, weight watchers, etc. I've had fairly good results from the diets because I am very focused when something needs to be done, but then I lose my focus and the weight comes back. Hence, WLS was the only tool left for me in order to stop the up and down of weight gain and weight loss. She used to be "thin" (size 12) in high school, so I am pretty sure she remembers what that is like. She was a pretty hot girl in her younger days. In college she was slightly overweight, but still very hot and sexy (we got married then). We both put on a lot of weight in the last 12 years of our marriage. I don't hold the weight against her (never have), but I would like her to be healthy to avoid future weight-related complications. The weight does not cause her to be unhappy about her life (mainly family is what makes her happy). She is usually in a positive mood and certainly brings happiness and well-being to my life. I would like her to consider WLS because it is life-changing and truely opens up a lot of opportunities that did not exist before. However, I don't want to push her into something she is against. Nice job!- Bottomless Pit
Thanks for the links. Is there a brand that you prefer over another? As these can probably not be fund in the local grocery store, I probably need to hunt down a natural foods store.- Whats Wrong With Me?/
- Nsv, I Think...
My wife brought in a picture today of my brothers wedding, where I was standing near the top at around 17 years old. We were pointing and talking about the best man in the center. And then I point over a couple to the right and say quite certainly that I do not remember that person. My wife breaks out laughing and can't stop. I don't get it and am like what's so funny. She says that person standing there is you, silly. Now what is the point and how does this relate to a possible NSV you ask? Well, there have been a number of posts that say their mind has not caught up with their body after losing weight. In this case, I have already mentally accepted my new body sans 150 lb later. Granted I was probably about 240 and shorter in the picture, but still, it got me thinking. I am ready to be a thin person staring back in the mirror because my mind no longer recognizes the fat person staring back in photos.- What Are Your Favorite Right After Surgery Liquids?
Tomato protein soup can be ordered from mybariatricpantry, but I got mine from a little WLS store at my hospital. Lobster bouillon may be harder to find, but try looking in the ethnic food section in your grocery store. If you cannot find it, try searching on amazon. Amazon has literally everything. I got my small container from a little Italian store in the Pike place market in Seattle. It is so good and lasts forever. I understand you can't come to Pike Place market, but you might look for a world market or some other place like that. Definitely try then grocery store first.- Liquid Tylenol For Adults?
It is available from the usual grocery stores like albertsons or Safeway. Be sure to not only look in the pain section, but also in the cold section. I only found it in the cold/flu section.- What Are Your Favorite Right After Surgery Liquids?
I liked making tomato bisque out of tomato protein soup and lobster bouillon to get an amazing savory flavor. I liked taking syntrax sweet flavor like Oreo in order to get a sweet flavor. I would end up probably drinking shake 80% of time and soup 20% of time to keep it interesting in my mouth. Yes, too much of one thing can get monotonous and switching it up during the day can help prevent food boredom or potential cheating.- 5 Weeks Post Op And Eating Issues Food Stuck Need Advice!
I had the stuck feeling consistently after switching to solids until about the 3rd month. It wasn't too bad and I eventually just got used to it. At 4 months, I do not get the stuck feeling any longer. However, and this is important, I still try an eat the same quantities even though I could eat more. I don't want the portion sizes creeping up on me where it eventually turns into gain.- Can't Get My Damn Protein Shakes In....help
Syntrax nectar and matrix product lines are the best. I really like the taste 4 months later of their "sweets" flavors and it mixes really well with water and milk derivatives (including soy and almond milk). It is not too thick in my opinion. It is sometimes easier to get through shakes at the beginning by sipping 1-3 ounces every hour all day long. This worked really well for me and I was not hungry once. Good luck.- In Tears..overly Fearful..
I would do it again if the need came up. Overall a very pleasant experience before and after in the hospital. I had some slight complications, but nothing too bad. The surgeons team went all out to make it a good experience from when I checked in until I checked out 5 days later.- Bottomless Pit
How do chia foods help. I get hungry at about 3 hours and eat every 3 hours at 4 months out. I would prefer not to get hungry. I eat about 100-125 cals every 3 hours in some Protein end centered small meal.- Bottomless Pit
What is this?- Whats Wrong With Me?/
Actually, I think we do dump on certain foods. It happened to me 3 times on higher fat foods, more so between 1-3 months out. Not at all now that I am out 4 months. Do others experience the fainting, the feeling like you are in space, loud ringing in the ears, rapid heart beat, indigestion and more?- Teachers....how Much Time Did You Take Off Following Vsg
3 weeks is probably he average amount of time to get better after surgery enough to make it through the day. I took 2 weeks off, but it took until about 4 weeks when my energy really returned. Incision pain took 3 weeks to mostly go away.- Okay Ladies... I Need Some Help.
Yup, that was me. Never found out what caused it. That was more pain then having the sleeve. It was the first time I have ever gotten a staph infection and I don't want another. Good part is my hair stop falling out after only 3 weeks. - Water And Stretching Sleeve
