  1. Hi Mike, how's it going now? What happened when you went to the doctor's? Are you back to work now...? I just wanted to follow up with you to see how you are doing? I hope you are doing well
  2. They will sell anything to people trying to lose weight... it's all about the money!! You won't catch me trying the dust to lose weight, that's for sure!!
  3. Hi Kristi, those are ALL GREAT IDEAS... thanks so much for taking the time to send me such good info!!
  4. Hi Mike, I am going on 5 weeks post-op (on Thursday it will be five weeks since I was banded)... I went back to work on my 8th day post-op! Please remember two important things... #1 You must get up and walk every hour if you can, even if it is not outside and you just walk around your house you must walk as much as you can while you're recovering (it is very important) and #2 a foreign object has been placed in your body and your insides are probably extremely swollen (like mine were) and it feels like you are short of breath and you feel tightness, but it sounds like your band is very tight because you're pretty swollen... my swelling took about 3 weeks to go down!! I agree with Carolinagirl that you should call your doctor and let them know what you are experiencing. Please know that you can always reach out here on lapbandtalk.com because there will always be someone who can relate to what you are going through and please don't give up... it definitely gets better!! p.s. NO you didn't make a mistake... this is the best decision you have ever made in your life!!
  5. Hi there, I was banded on July 19th and was recently approached at work to start their first Lap-Band Support Group.... I'm so excited!! Please share with me your ideas, any topics that might encourage you to attend a Support Group at work and/or guest speakers or experts who would attend our group to give encourangement and support to fellow banders? Any advice or suggestions you can give me are welcome. Thanks so much and I look forward to your responses. OCPrincess
  6. Congratulations on your Lap-Band surgery! I get mine on July 19th and am so excited. I am not familiar with a "pain ball" - that was not offered to me. Only liquid pain medication has been offered post-surgery. Please try and think positively... like you will have "minimal pain tomorrow" - you never know, thinking positively can give you positive results Good luck...
  7. We have the same surgery date... so cool!! Congratulations! Are you as excited as I am? The only upcoming stuggle I am facing is the 4th of July holiday. I usually go to a party every year and I think I'm going to pass this year, since I am only allowed liquids.
  8. Hi, I am on my 5th day of liquids pre-surgery. My surgery is scheduled on July 19th... when is your's scheduled?
  9. This is my first time on a website like this and I am excited to meet new friends who are going thru what I am! Today is my 5th day of liquids pre-surgery and I have researched several different meanings of the pre "liquid diet"... my doctor is Dr. Eric Pham and i am scheduled for surgery on July 19th, 2012. I am extremely excited to have my surgery and am committed to do whatever it takes to be successful with the Lap-Band. How I understood the "liquid diet" was to have only Protein shakes, Water, Vitamin water, clear broth, liquid yogurt and sugar free Jello. I have mostly stuck to chocolate Protein Shakes, lots and lots of water and have added (4) multi-vitamins and (2) potassium and (1) Iron to my diet, as well as Emergency 1000 and Zipfizz which are extra sources of additional Vitamins in powder form (easier to add to my water/vitamin water). Can one of you please respond and let me know how you did on your 2-week "pre-surgery" liquid diet? Can you please give me some pointers as to what you did and how much weight you lost pre-surgery? Thanks so much!! xo OCPrincess
