  1. Hi everyone I had my last nutrition class and pre-op appt at my doctor's today. It is getting SO real now!! I have to be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks - that starts Monday. I am already in da zone to lose weight so I stopped drinking all soda a couple of weeks ago and have been replacing 1 meal a day with a protein shake. They weighed me this morning and I have already lost 7 lbs before starting the real liquid diet. YAY!!! 3 more weeks til surgery!
  2. QOTD- what diets have you tried before eventually deciding on the sleeve??? Did any of them work for you?? Jenny Craig, NutriSystem, Weight Watchers, Slim4Life...the list goes on. I lost over 40 lbs on WW and over 40 lbs on Slim4Life but of course I gained it all back and then some. I'm good at losing weight...it's the maintaining part that I seriously stink at lol
  3. Awesome!!!! Congrats
  4. Hi JLOR! Looks like we are both having surgery this month by Dr. David Kim! My surgery is August 7th.
  5. MGM!!! #1 made me laugh so hard that it gave me a coughing attack! HAHAHAHAHA That reminds me...I lost 40+ lbs on Slim4Life a couple of years ago (and gained it all back ugh). When I lost the weight I noticed my toilet at home didn't creak when I sat on it anymore. It was a big joke in our house about the happy toilet that didn't creak anymore.
  6. Whoohoo Tabby! Won't it be awesome to go shopping for new clothes in much smaller sizes for your birthday party? Fun!
  7. Awe, Storm! I would feel the same way though. Think about how gorgeous and THIN you are going to be. The horse won't even realize you are on him/her!
  8. Those are great ones! Mine are: 1. Having more energy to get out and do things with my daughter 2. Polishing my toenails (trying to do it now is not a pretty sight!) 3. Getting off my medications
  9. Congrats, Lissa!! You are truly an inspiration. Thank you for always being there!!
  10. Hi MGM! I just sent you a friend request on MyfitnessPal
  11. Hi there! I hope you had a great 4th. I know how you feel..I am excited and nervous too. We'll get through it together!
  12. LOL We'll go through this surgery together girl! We might end up meeting at Dr. Kim's office since our surgery days are so close together. I'm glad you found this site. There are a ton of really nice and encouraging people on here. Ok, about that blog you mentioned... Stop freaking yourself out!!! Have you ever heard that expression "people are too quick to complain and not compliment"? A lot of people are more than happy to gripe about things that went wrong. Please understand those experiences are very rare. There are TONS of posts on this site to encourage and motivate you. If this surgery was so horrible, why would thousands of people still have it and have so much success?
  13. Hi txjina1! Welcome to the group. My surgery is August 7th with Dr. Kim!
  14. Thanks so much. I'm going to talk to my doctor again about it (hmm, maybe I should wait until I am off Estrogen and hormonal and then go in there...lol)
  15. Wow, that's great to hear about the estrodiol. I wonder why doctors are so different on things like that. If you don't mind me asking...what dosage are you on? I take 1 milligram. I'm glad to hear that you are losing and can totally understand about the head hunger. People walk by with their lunches at work and it smells soooo good. It makes me feel like I am hungry but I am really not. Hang in there. We're here to support you!
  16. Hi Misty, I am also on Estrodiol for hormone replacement (total hysterectomy as well). My doctor told me I have to stop taking the medication for 2 weeks pre op and 3 weeks post op surgery due to blood clots. I'm worried about the hot flashes
  17. Fantastic! You should be very proud of yourself.
  18. How frustrating. Well I'm glad you are able to have the revision surgery.
  19. Awesome! A friend of mine is having a band to sleeve revision too. Are you having problems with your band? Hers slipped and she is having major issues.
  20. Hi! Best of luck to you as well. Hey, now that it is July we can all say we are having our surgeries "next month"
  21. I'm so glad to hear your kitty is doing better! Everything is going to be fine tomorrow. I'm sending well wishes from thousands of miles away in Texas!
  22. Hi Smoggy...how are you holding up? I'll be thinking about you tomorrow!
  23. One of the biggest concerns I have is that I have to stop taking estrogen 2 weeks prior to surgery and 3 weeks after. Can you say HOT FLASHES?!?!?!?!? My doctor told me it was necessary to decrease the chance of blood clots.
