  1. I found it offensive too in that she is trying to place blame. Sometimes bands fail! It happens! I am always appreciative of people that put their neck out so others are aware of what can happen when the band fails- no matter where the fault lies! So thank you for posting your experience and know that you helped people!
  2. Wow! That's kind of mean!!! Just sayin...
  3. I love frozen blueberries- so refreshing when its hot outside. Freeze fresh ones on a cookie sheet & then pop them into a ziplock or just buy them already frozen. For protein I'll mix a laughing cow lite mozzarella & tomato wedge with a 1/4 cup lf cottage cheese- it reminds me of the pimento cheese spread I loved as a kid. Eat it with special k pop crackers- 15 for 55 calories. Also banana carb master yogurt instead of milk with kashi almond flax- 100 calories for 1/2 cup & 60 ( I think!) for yogurt- I'll eat that & feel super satisfied. My favorite night time treat if I have leftover calories is a banana "shake". Freeze ripe peeled bananas. I use my stick blender- 1 cup almond milk (original or unsweetened), 1 pack Splenda, & 1 cut up frozen banana. Blend until thick & creamy. Yummy! Only 135 or 160 depending on almond milk. Pretty good considering a small shake @ McDonald's is 580!!! Hope this helps!
  4. Everyone is so supportive here!!! I love it! This site has helped me so much. I just wish I would've known about it when I was banded 3 years ago. It's been a struggle for me too- lost 40 but gained back 20. So it's great to hear people cheering each other. I too loved what carolinagirl said. Thank you guys!
  5. I love quinoa! I rinse it and then microwave on high in a covered casserole dish- 3 parts liquid to 1 part grain for 20 minutes. I prefer broth for the liquid. I love it cold mixed into green salad with cucumber & tomato.
  6. He was my surgeon and the best thing I ever did was to change Drs! Someone called him "transactional" which fits him perfectly. I never got a caring vibe from him- except at the first appointment! After that he was always flip & condescending. I felt like it was all about the money!! The staff made it so easy to get approval- plus I did really like everyone on staff but one woman. However he could NEVER get a handle on my band. It was always too loose or too tight and he made me feel like it was my fault! My new surgeon is the opposite of simpson & I am soooo happy I changed! For the 1st time I am actually losing weight & feel happy with the band. Im sure there are many people who are happy with him but I was NOT one of them!
  7. Does the sleeve make sense if you only have 50 lbs to lose?
  8. I could have written your post! I too had the perfect surgery & was committed to doing everything right! I wasn't loosing weight & went in for fills then unfills- being too loose or too tight. Never finding the green zone. I did this for 3 years. Starving or vomiting. Horrible way to live and it took its toll on me- physically & mentally. The only time I lost was from vomiting. Then I'd be starving & eat too many calories from sliders. It was a vicious cycle. This site helped me sooo much. It sounds dramatic but it saved me! I changed surgeons & I log everything I eat on my fitness pal. I was shocked at how many calories I was actually eating! Please get an unfill! A tiny one can make all the difference.
