Fills From Someone Else, Someplace Else?
Wow, that is amazing. I definitely agree health care in the US is ridiculous. The insurance companies have all our lawmakers in their pockets. Good luck to you.

Fills From Someone Else, Someplace Else?
So far, I haven't even been able to find a doctor who will see me. My original surgery was 3 years ago and only 12 pounds lost. I want to see another doc since my doc told me I'm at max fill. But they won't touch me. Good luck, I hope u find someone.

Stretched Pouch?
Yes, I had that done and everything was fine. The only time I ever felt some restriction was a couple of weeks afterwards. Ate to fast and I PB. I really wish I could find a doctor close by who wl see me but so far no luck. Hopefully I will.

Stretched Pouch?
I have maxed out my band and have no restriction. I had my surgery almost 3 years ago (4/2009) and only lost 12 pounds (right after surgery - too sore to eat anything). I have been back and forth to the doctor with no results. I finally stopped going, haven't gone in a year. I am looking for a new doc to work with but so far no one wants to see me. They only work with their own patients. So, needless to say it was a total waste. btw I needed to lose about 50 pounds or so. If you read my labworks the numbers are wonderful - but then you look at me - I'm only 5' and you can see I need to lose the weight. Hopefully, you have a great doctor. My surgery went well, but they aren't used to the process failing and my docs don't know what to do.

Disappointed Too
Hi, I was banded April, 2009 - and it did nothing! The weight I lost was right after surgery about 12 pounds and that was it. I kept going back to the doctor and they told me my band was filled to the max. Had the floro x-ray (sp - sorry) said everything was fine. No one could give me answers. I went to support groups and got really discouraged because these people where losing weight and I wasn't. I did eat a lot less but weight didn't come off. No answer for me so after almost 2 years I stopped going to the doc and meetings. They weren't helping me anyway. I don't have any food issues. In fact, now I can have diet soda and beer - but I can only drink it slowly and not with food - too many bubbles. I was never a big drinker before anyway so having alittle now and then isn't an issue for me. I exercised etc.. all they told me to do. So now I just eat the way I used to - alittle bit of dry cereal in the AM, healthy lunch - just had half of a sald with grilled chicken - dressing on the side - and I'll have a healthy dinner - probably some more grilled chicken. I guess I'm destined to be fat (I'm female, almost 51, 210lbs and 5'). I told the doctors (all of them) that I put on this weight after child #2 (never had any weight issues before except for maybe an occasional 10 pounds or so - also in good shape and loved exercising). Now, I am fat and tired and have a plastic thing in me which irrates sometimes (doc said it will do that) but otherwise was a waste of time. It seems the people who have succeeded with this are the ones who have 200 pounds to lose. Think twice before you do this and talk to a lot of banders, successful and not, - don't talk to bypass people because their process is totally different. I would not have done this had I known it wouldn't work.

Starting Over
Hi all, I too had lap and surgery 3 years ago and only lost maybe 15 pounds. Kept going back to the doctor who said I was filled to max but I could eat almost anything and no weight loss. So after going back and forth for over a year I just stopped bothering. Well I want to lose this weight and am looking at working with another doctor but so far they won't even see me if they didn't do the surgery. I don't want to go back to the old doctor since didn't do anything. Anyone have any ideas? I started drinking slim fast now to see if that will do anything! So frustrated I want to cry.
