I have always been the "chubby" girl. The first time I was on weight watchers I was 10 years old and had to lose 30 pounds to be at my "normal weight". Soooo for the past 40 years I have lost probably around 300 pounds! I have tried EVERYTHING!!!! I fasted for 4 months only drinking protein shakes (and you think the preop diet is bad!), weight watchers multiple times, Atkins, NutriSystem, personal trainers, lap band, HCG, Phen/Fen, I've just about done it all. Just can't not seem to ever keep the weight off for any extended period. I am an emotional eater. Doesn't matter...Sad, Happy, Angry, Scared, Bored I eat. I adopted a baby when I was 36. He is now 13. I have continued to live an active life even as a "big" girl. We camp, swim ("those people will never see me again" is what I would tell myself), go to amusement parks, football games (I do live in Texas) . Up until the past 3-4 years I was able to do all of that. My weight has now begun to effect my activites and though I still do them it is much harder for me to do them. I hate having to wait for my son and his friends at the end of the ride because I can't fit in the seat!! Last year my son got in trouble at school and home for hitting another child in the face. I found out 1 year later that the child was talking about all the "fat" moms in the class. Wow...Did I feel like a heel. So a friend had this surgery about 4 years ago and did fantastic and has improved health. Then a coworker told me her doctor referred her to a bariactric surgeon for this procedure. So I began researching about it. The Lord just opened the doors for me to be able to have the sleeve. I am looking forward to increased energy, better health, better self esteem and being able to ride any ride I want at the amusement parks! Scheduled for surgery on July 30,2012. Wish me Luck!!!
