shinelily reacted to Ruby in June 2011 SleeversIm from July 27th 2011. I have only lost about 70lbs and feel like i never lost like everyone else. I also think its partly my fault because i broke several rules early on during the honey moon stage. I will say that i still have plenty of restriction and if i stick to the Protein first rule.. i do plenty well. I have been going to the gym atleast 4 times a week and its a chore getting there and once i am there i love to move it move it.. lol..
FOOOD is still what i really need to tighen up the carbs and not drinking enough Water are my main issues.. Stay in touch i would love to hear about your struggles and your successeeeeessss!! WOW 114lbs that is awesome!!

shinelily reacted to lyndynojo in Medical Alert Bracelets? The "no blind NG insertion" rule is because there is so little stomach that it can be punctured if an NG tube is inserted incorrectly. I also have no medicine restrictions.

shinelily reacted to melbelinc in Medical Alert Bracelets?I have one. A fellow sleever that I am friends with on FB got one and it seemed like a good idea. Esp for me because I am going to vegas on vaca in a week, I also go to concerts and things like that where I don't have my purse or card. I only where it when I am out doing something that if something happened I would be safe. Also only a few of my friends know about this, So if I'm out with people who don't know then I wear it. But if I'm at work, with my family, or with my couple of friends that know and something were to happen, I know that they will know what to say or to at least (because I told them) to look in my wallet.
I did get mine from a company called Laurens Hope. Super cute! Also mine says: My name
Gastric Sleeve 5/12
No Blind NG/OG tube
PCN/Sulfa Allergies
Dr. xxx-xxx-xxxx
It's not the worst thing in the world to own.

shinelily reacted to MyGastricSleeveLife in Medical Alert Bracelets?NSAIDs, especially ibuprofen, can cause bleeding issues & stomach ulcers if used on a regular basis for an extended period of time. Some surgeons do not have a rule against them, but mine does so I have it on my bracelet. I specifically asked my surgeon about it & he said there are some that aren't as harsh as ibuprofen that could be prescribed if needed, but he still suggested not using any NSAIDs if they could be avoided.
If you click the link I posted above on my other post that is from my blog, I have some good articles I shared in that post that explain the reasoning behind some of the guidelines. Again, every doctor is different & some see no need for a bracelet, but it gives me peace of mind to wear it!

shinelily reacted to SLIM12 in Help!my Sweet Tooth Is Out Of Control :sYou aren't eating enough proteins. My doc said focus on them first then there'll be very little room for anything else. Try the protein ready to drinks, I think they'll satisfy your sweet cravings.

shinelily reacted to massindex in Help!my Sweet Tooth Is Out Of Control :sI think you already knowbthe answer. Start with the Boot Camp and go back to square one. Five days of liquid only and start back on the road that made you successful. You can do this!

shinelily got a reaction from weight_no_longer in Is Keeping The Secret Possible?I think it is possible and BETTER to keep the secret..I live in a community where people tend to judge eachother and worship gossip n asking question..I told about ten of my friends n i do regret it now..I think its my OWN BUISNESS and its easier to live my life without having to answer questions n telling the story over n over again..whenever somebody comments about my weight loss i give short general responses..I am about one year out now,,

shinelily reacted to Kendra37 in Is Keeping The Secret Possible?I told everyone! Friends, Family and Coworkers, now I know that was maybe a wrong choice. I had to defend myself as to why I was getting it done. Everyone had their opinion about what diet I should go on instead of going under the knife. Well for the last 25 years dieting hasent worked obviously! So this was a pretty private and personal quest of mine that I really shouldnt have blurted out to the world. I learned my lesson
