    Bariwise

I use these all the time, I LOVE them! If I'm drinking liquids, it is one of these. Doing 4 of these a day gets my Protein in and I am free to not worry about how much protein is in what I eat. I do add some unsweetened koolaid to some of them because they are too sweet at times. I drink the grape, pineapple, lemonade, and orange/pineapple. Also they have great Protein Bars. I have yet to be disappointed with any of the bariwise bars. Their cheesecake mixes are great too (can't remember which brand they are but I have only ordered from BC) Now the WonderSlim is a diffferent story.. I didn't care for any of those. I hope this helps you make you decision, good luck!

    Newbie~ 2 Weeks Post Op!

I use the deink mixes at www.bariatricchoice.com I am addicted to the pineapple one, but I also enjoy the grape. It really helps me get my fluids in.
  3. I had diabetes prior to surgery, I only had the glue afterwards. All of my incisions were healed the beginning of week 3. I don't know if that has anything to do with using the glue VS stitches or not. I would call your dr, 7 weeks sounds like a long time to me.
  4. I am one of the lucky ones that gets 6 weeks for my surgery and recovery. Luckily my doctor was supportive of that and the additional time will give me the opportunity to adjust to the new life. I am 2 1/2 weeks out and jsut starting to feel like my old self again. I find it time consumming to plan my meals to ennsure that I am getting my Protein in. In the end, it is what works for you and how much time you can afford to take off. Good luck to you!

    My Turn My Turn!

Congrats to you, I am excited to follow your progress. We are neighbors (i'm in Carrollton) good to know there are others around me. Where are you having your surgery and what Dr are you using. I am having surgery on 1/30 at Baylor Carrollton with Dr Veniniga. Excited doesn't even begin to explain how I feel. Best of luck to you on Wednesday and I look forward to sharing your journey with you!
  6. My Psych was covered by insurance, my nutritionalist wasn't. I had money in my health care reserve account to cover though. Good luck on your journey!
  7. VGS Ready, my surgery is also on the 30th, YIPPEE! That means that I start the pre op diet tomorrow. I surgeon requires 14 days of Optifast dieting, so I picked up my shakes on Friday and bought things to doctor them up with. I am ready. My concern is that I am traveling both weeks so not sure how that is going to work out. THe funny thing is that everyone I work with in these locations will be expecting me to take them to lunch. They are in for a surprise!! I guess I could take extra shakes for them... nah I will just offer to have something delivered. Or go with them and just get a drink. I don't know how to directly contact people on this thread, can someone help with that? Thanks, all
  8. Congrats on getting your date, I'm hoping to join the FAB FEB'ers LOL All of my paperwork was submitted to the insurance company on 12/28 so now it is just a waiting game for me. They said it usually takes 4 weeks for approval, but the dr's office told me to call them daily to check on my status (I guess if they get tired of hearing from you, they will approve you) LOL. I was hoping to get the surgery at the beginning of Feb, but it looks like it will be towards the middle because of the 10 day pre op diet. Oh well, I am closer than I have ever been and just thankful that I have found this site to talk with others about this process.
  9. I'm also in Dallas, I have done all my prework and we are waiting on insurance approval. After that, 10 days of liquid Protein and then on my way to a new me. I'm hoping for a late Jan date. I am seeing Dr Frank Veniniga in Carrollton. I can't tell you how excited I am about the future.
