    Completely Given Up

I had my surgery 3 months ago and I have only lost 40 lbs. I am still hungry all the time as my hunger hormones never subsided. I feel like a failure. Has anyone else gone through this? I am sobbing as I am writing this as I feel completely hopeless.

    Failure

Am only 5 weeks out of being sleeved and yesterday was complete setback for me. I ate string cheese, Nutella , too much deli chicken and goldfish crackers. . This is the first time I have had a "crash" since being sleeved. The only decent thing I did was exercise. I even drank water with my food. I kept grazing all day. I am so ashamed. I feel like I have failed at the sleeve
  3. I get he half hour rule about no drinking within a half hour of eating. Does this also count for priotein drinks? Very confused. Anyone's input greatly appreciated!!

    Failure

Thank you all for your input. Today was a much better day :-)
  6. Was sleeved on 05/16. I am still hungry quite a bit after my meals. This has been the case since I came out of surgery. This is very discouraging since I was told by my Dr that my hunger would subside within a week or so. Also I have only lost 22 lbs in one month. The first two weeks it was 16 lbs. then only 6 lbs the next two weeks. I have exercised every day and have had zero carbs, sweets, and so on. Just very discouraged :-(

    Still Hungry A Month Later

Drinking more when I feel I am hungry is a very good idea. I will be trying to drink more tomorrow! Great idea

    Still Hungry A Month Later

Thanks for the compliment on the 22lb weight loss. Not too sure it's thirst. Good thing is that even though I am frequently hungry it takes a very small amount to make me full. Thank goodness!!
  9. Today is a month since I was sleeved. In the last two weeks I lost only 6 lbs. I am so disappointed. I have stuck to my diet and exercised every day. 22 lbs in a month is very upsetting to me. Hope this surgery was worth it :(

    What's The Deal On Hunger?

I came out of surgery hungry. I was sleeved a month ago. Although it has got better, I still get VERY hungry at times. Not once have I "forgot" to eat like some people say they do. The good thing is you can fulfill that hunger with a VERY small amount of food. My Dr also said it could be stomach acids and your body asjusting to the new sleeve....that the hunger thing could be hormonal.
  11. Anyone have any advice on how to get more protein in?

  12. Does anyone know if drinking the protein drink can be drank with other liquids....or does the 30 minute wait rule apply to those like it does food?

    Advise Please

I came out of surgery hungry as well and I was sleeved 3 weeks ago. It DOES get better with time but you certainly do NOT want to eat as much as you can. Your stomach is still healing. I bought a jar of unflavored protein isolate...which is the purest form of protein. I put it in my smoothies, it contains 25 grams of protein. Keeps me full for hours!! Just an idea but please be patient. Every day it does get easier!
  14. I do not know how to start a post on a forum, I am new to this. Would someone please help me?

    Never Again!

I have drank Chick Filet Diet lemonade within 5 days of surgery on a few occasions, never had an issue with it ...at all. Guess everyone is just different.
  16. My journey started 05/16/2012. I weighed 295. I was sleeved on this day and went home three days later. Initially the first two days once home I was depressed, hungry, and in a LOT of pain. I was very angry because I had come out of surgery hungry and it just continued. My Dr. explained this was normal and likely my hormones and/or stomach acid. She also stated it would take a while for my new stomach to adjust to my body or vice versa. Within just a few days my hunger subsided a great deal as well as my depression and pain. I was in zero pain less than a week after my surgery. I also have diabetes and high blood pressure. I left the hospital instructed to quit my diabetic meds, and at my two week follow up I was taken off my blood pressure meds. AT my two week post op visit I dropped 14 lbs....of course I was disappointed because I wanted to lose more than that. After all I had nothing but liquids for 17 days straight and was exercising. Now I am 3 1/2 weeks out and I feel great. Eating no carbs, no sweets, and no fried food in addition to exercising has made me feel so much better!!! I was getting headaches about every other day...now I have had only one in nearly a month. I hope one day I can feel like a "normal" person and not have to worry what everybody else thinks of me. I adopted my little girl as a newborn right from the hospital 16 months ago, she is the reason I need to keep going and make myself healthier. One day I would love to meet someone that loves me. My boyfriend told me I will always be fatter than him and no matter how much I lose, it will never be enough. This makes me want to lose that much more.
  17. You have done AMAZING so far and be proud of what you have done!!! So you have had a setback....we will ALL go through this at one time or another. You have lost a great deal of weight and you are not perfect. You know what you need to do and that is what is important. Give yourself some credit....you can do this!! You have come so far PLEASE do not quit now!!

    Starting New Life...i Hope

WOW!!! That is awesome!! You know pretty much EXACTLY what I am going through....weight wise and having a reason to do this. I would love to say I did this all for myself but truly it was so I could be around and see my sweet daughter grow up. Yeah as soon as this weight comes off me and my sweet baby girl are relocating and starting over...and I can not WAIT!! Thank you for the encouragement and the best to you and your daughter as well

    Foods You Eat

I was sleeved on 05/16 and don't get to eat soft foods until next week. Wonder why all Drs don't use the same guidelines.
