  1. Now that I have my surgery locked in I must say I am both equally excited and nervous at the same time. I never had surgery and I am a bit scared of the idea, although I know I am in good hands. I am also wondering what my life will be like post surgery....it will be a new journey.
  2. Ok great, I was hoping that would be the case of less complications etc. How is your weight loss coming along, with a lower BMI I have heard the weight does not drop as readily...curious to hear more about your journey. Good luck!
  3. Yes thats exactly how I feel....I work out, crossfit, ran a half marathon 2 wks ago yet I can't manage to get my weight to wear it needs to be. Good luck to you and let me know how it goes!
  4. Hi there everyone. I am considering getting sleeved and have not yet had my cousultation with my Dr. My BMI 31 which is low for this type of proceedure but I wish to proceed anyways I beleive I need the extra help I need to lose the excess weight I am at; I weight 225 lbs at 5'11 and want to get to 180 lbs post surgery. Is there any added risk of doing the proceedure at this BMI level or are the risks the same as one with a higher BMI. I am just curious. Thanks!
  5. Aloha everyone and thank you for all your posts...this really gives me a better perspective and confidence in my decision to move forward and get sleeved. I just keep telling myself its an investment that WILL pay off dividends for a lifetime. I have my first actual consultation this Friday. I'll be sure to post and let everyone know how it went. Have a good week and thank you again for all your input!
  6. Hi there everyone, I am new to the community and just want give a shout out to everyone. I have decided to move forward as a self pay for the procedure as my BMI 31 does not fall under coverage. At first I was sticker shocked when quoted $17000 here in Hawaii with Dr Criangle....am I dillusional or is this a standard price for SP? Regardless for me I think over all, the long term, healh wise, self confidence etc will offset the price for me...thoughts anyone
