  1. Okay! So I went to my nutrition eval and psych eval today in Nashville. The dietician discredited me the minute I walked in the door!!!! She watery rude asked "have you ever been at a normal weight?" mind you I can take it on the chin like a man....but if I was at a normal weight before do you think I would be talking to her!?!? Jeez! AND I told her my mom had bypass and I shouldn't have. She said your mom should be doing this she should be doing this....whilst teaching me. I am not here to talk about my mom lady this is me! She led me out of her office and pointed to the elevators. Didn't not say goodbye hope your surgery sucks kiss my ass....NOTHING! This really upset me. And my psych eval lady plus the dietician were trying to talk me out of the band? Saying I should do the sleeve. Not a very good day....had to vent lol
  2. Ow quickly did you hear back from BCBS after you completed all the requirements? I am hoping for July or August. But I would like to be banded ASAP to get through bandster hell and whatnot.
  3. Thank you guys! Tomorrow is my nutrition evaluation as well as my psych eval. And my appointment for the doctor is in two weeks!! I hope I get approved fast!
  4. Thanks for all the input! I am learning so many different things. It does sound like everyone is different some at surgery some a little later.....I guess I am just worried about getting out of surgery and wanting to eat and EAT! But it's a tool I suppose
  5. After surgery about how long until your first fill? Do you feel restriction at all after surgery? I have been reading and many people are saying yet are hungry all the time. Just a little confused ???¨
  6. I was told I might have to do liquids 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after? Did you all lose weight with the liquids, before and/or after? And was it hard not eating? Seems like you would crave all the time?
  7. My boyfriend, mom, and dad are the only people who know in my family. I am pretty sure I will tell everyone I had my gallbladder removed, it's almost the same incisions The way I see it is my co-workers, classmates, or friends did not help me decide to get it, and it is none of their concern how I lose weight. This is for me, and it will be my secret
  8. That's sounds good! I loved all the Atkins foods. I'm excited to hear it went well for you. I am getting more excited about the band! I was apprehensive at first and was still a little unsure....but I am definetley doing it. I owe it to myself to shed this weight and get off hypertensives.
  9. That's great! I hope you get it sooner maybe I need to call and say if they have a cancellation I would gladly fill the spot . I have tried Protein Shakes before to lose weight the GNC chocolate brand is AMAZING! I put a spoonful of Peanut Butter in it. It tastes like a Reese cup! What did they do at the nutrition eval? What your eating now? What will change? That sort of thing?

  11. WOW!! Thanks for all the support! I never thought I would even get a response. Your doing great Helmut! 40 lbs!! That's awesome!! I want to get moving too Neeni. It's far away but close at the same time!! Savannah my mom also had a WLS a few years ago, and since I am in school I am still under her insurance. She didn't have to do the 6 months eval so I am hoping I don't have too. When I contacted the hospital I am going to have the band placed at they told me that these three things are what I needed for insurance approval. I graduate from nursing school in May 2013 and I want to look good for graduation I am also glad you brought up family and friends....I have only told my boyfriend, and my mom. I am sure my dad will know too, but I don't think I will need to include anyone else. I don't want people to belittle me, or think anything different of me. I want it to be my secret too *SHHHH* lol
  12. I am expecting sometime in early August as well let me know how your nutrition eval went! You haven't been approved yet right?
  13. SO, I am a 23 year old female. I am 5'8" and weigh 260 lbs. I have been heavy my whole life, and college set me over the edge. I have decided I am going to jump on the "Band" wagon, and I was wondering how everyone's process went? I have BCBS, and they require me to do three things. Meet with my doctor, get a nutrition evaluation, and a psych evaluation. I am also hoping to be banded by Dr Olson in Nashville. Anyone else have experience with him? I am a mix of emotions! Happy, scared, nervous, excited! I am probably getting ahead of myself, but I am thinking about a bikini next year ! I know it is going to be a journey, and a TOOL for weight loss. I know I have to do the things I am suppose to. How has the band worked for everyone else? Also how are your scars? Tasha
