  5. Hello, I am choosing to not tell people outside of my family about seeking and hopefully get my sleeve. However, I have done a ton of research and one of the tools I have used to Youtube. I have loved watching peoples videos, especially people who stick to vlogging for a considerable amount of time. I want to vlog my experiences as a form of accountability and meeting others who have or are looking to walk in my shoes. However, I am not sure this is so smart since I would like to keep the surgery personal. I feel choosing to vlog would mean immediate exposure (to those whom I do not wish to share with). But what are the odds of people looking me up or evening knowing what key words to use on Yputube. I do not enjoy writing/typing and I do not want to blog. What is your opinion? What would you do? Too risky? Thanks for sharing! Sannah
  6. Hey! I am curious what coming home from the hospital and recovering is like with young ones. I have a baby that is 9 months old. Thanks for sharing! Sannah
  7. Hi! I have not done an online introduction, but a fair amount of posting. I have been using an app on my iphone and I am currently sitting at my laptop. The actual site is considerably different than the very simple app. Since I actually have a key board I can type out an introduction. I am a wife and a mother. I am currently 3 months into the insurance required 6 month medically supervised weight loss. I live in Portland, Oregon and I think I will be going to Legacy Weight Management Institution. I originally started this process at OHSU, but I have not been pleased with the customer service. My insurance covers WLS and I have Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield. I have already has my sleep study and lab work. On August 2nd and 3rd I will have my psychological evaluation, nutritionist, physical therapy and nurse practitioner appointments. From what I have read in my paperwork I may be asked to do some testing. I am excited to get this journey started. I am preparing myself mentally to make changes and look forward to establishing a routine with nutrition and exercise. I, like many others on this forum have struggled with my weight for my entire life. I have tried many different diets, a lot of exercise, but never drugs (my body is very sensitive). I am currently at my heaviest weight of 306.4lbs. I am thankful to not have diabetes or high blood pressure. I do have a great deal of back/foot pain, asthma, migraines, carpel tunnel, skins rashes and a few other minor health concerns. I think if I continue down this road I will not live too much longer. I am thrilled to have this opportunity and look forward to the success and potential struggles.
  8. Hey!! I am still pre op so I do not have a lot of answers. Sorry. I would love to hear what you find out!! Sannah
  9. Hello!! Pleasure to meet you!! 30 as well, 31 is not far away for me. I am doing all my pre op work now. I should be on track for my sleeve at the start of the year!!!
  10. I am so excited to have things rolling. I scheduled. My psychological evaluation, nutritionist, physical therapy, and nurse practitioner, and initially consultation today. All are in a three day window. What should I expect? Anything unusual? Good? Bad? Boring? Informative.
  11. My PCP is very supportive!! She tells me how successful I will be with the sleeve. She helps my husband feel safe with the decision. She is our family doctor and is very supportive. She also helps find any resources I need and has talked a lot of stuff over with me as I go on with this process. L Everytime I see her she says DO NOT go to Mexico. My insurance covers wls so I won't being going to Mexico.
  12. Get up off the floor without using my hands for support. Squat to garden!!! To not worry about my back fat/ham hocks. For my wedding ring to fit. To feel ok eating around others. To feel secure grocery shopping. I sometimes feel Iike people note what is in my cart. If I get something that isn't super healthy I wonder If I am judged! To rock a pair of denim!!! Try new hair styles on a thinner face!! Sexy fun panty shopping!! To wear the colors I want, because they actually come in my size of clothes!! To sit with my legs crossed: like a lady does. To feel comfortable in an exercise class and not be "the fat one". To feel confident! To have my radiant facial skin back!! Thus list could go on and on!! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  13. It has been great to hear of other peoples experiences!! Thank you for sharing. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  14. No problem. If you want a partner I can text. No offensive if this isn't for you. Just want to do what I can to support others. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  15. Hello!! Thank you or giving feed back. I do not want to push him. I feel if he wants to engage weight loss he will on his terms. But he seems to have a fear that my weight loss could negatively impact our marriage. Can you speak to this? I was asked if I would "get skinny" and leave. This is an odd thought to me. Our marriage is good and has been solid. So this idea is a bit out of sorts. I did some reading about wls surgery and marriage. It sounds like the biggest challenge is that the partner who had weight loss wants to go out more, and this causes friction in the marriage. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  16. How has the sleeve affected your marriage ? Especially when your husband doesn't want to loose weight ( but supports your journey). The good? The bad? Sent from my iPhone using VST
  17. Conclusion!! I know that excess skin involves nature and nurture. Either way my Quest was to understand what external factors others employed. What it seems people are doing is Bio Oil, exfoliation, St. Ives- Cocoa Butter and of course exercise. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  18. Hey Jess. Sad to hear your family isn't on board yet. I hope in time they are on board. I am sure as they see you growing healthier they will get it!!! You deserve this change. Hopefully they will see your doing what is right for you and be supportive. Wishing you wellness, Sannah
