  3. Anyone? Surgeon says I will loose 80-120lbs and I have age on my side so closer to 120 This will put me at 180 lbs which is still obese according to those crazy charts!! I am 5'5" Has your experience been similar? Did your surgeon give you a realistic measurement? Have you lost more/less? While the scale is a good tool for motivation. I am starting to think that fat and muscle mass ratio is a stronger indicator of health and progress. Rather than bmi, which does not account for the differential of weight of fat and muscle. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using VST

  5. Hello, I am curious if you've had a pulmonary embolism or blood clot located in another location? After meeting the surgeon today I feel like it is important to do a little more research on blood clots. The surgeon said that she feels like the biggest risk for this surgery is pulmonary embolisms, which can be fatal. I understand that this is rare, but my mind can not rest. Have you had a blood clot? What happened? How miserable was it? Thank you for sharing any information you have learned. Best, Sannah

  9. Shallac is easily removed by soaking your finger tips in acetone, which you can get at Walgreens, fred Meyers or target (most stores). It find of just melts of. If you want to expidite the process soak your fingera, remove your hand and use a cuticle pusher and scrape the goo off and place back in the acetone. I out my fingers in a glass bowl of pure acetone with a towel over it. Best of luck. Sent from my iPhone using VST

  13. Hello, I have used to search box and read a few other posts and I can not find what I am looking for. I thought I would have tons of questions for the surgeon at this point. I have done a fair amount of reading on VST and many of my questions are answered. What questions did you ask the surgeon at your 1st consultation? DISCLAIMER: I know that each person is different and has different questions and needs. Also, I already did a search on the forum so please do not suggest this (first sentence). Thank you for sharing! I look forward to hearing what you asked. Best, Sannah

  17. Hello! I am pre op as well!! It's so much to endure. Sounds like your sleep study was hard and scary Bummer to hear that others weren't kind about your experience. To each, their own right!? Great it was easy for them!! But it's not that way for everyone. Too bad others aren't sensitive to this!!! I recently had an MRI of my brain. It took me four attempts over a week and a half period on drugs. No one has a place to judge how we react in any situation!! Compassion and care is the best route when another is enduring a struggle. My experience with the physical therapist, nut and psychologist was very positive!!! I did not feel like my fatness was topic of conversation. All three were real supportive and sympathetic. I loved all three of them. I hope that your experience will be the same. They can help you with the 15lbs. I am working on 20. We can both hang in here!! We'll both have a date soon!! It's going to be so great!! Then we can be über excited too!!! Right now its okay to feel all these emotions!! I feel them too!!! Best, Sannah Sent from my iPhone using VST
