  1. I wanted to thank everyone for their good wishes and support! I'd be much more nervous going into surgery tomorrow morning without you guys! I'll type to you on the other side!
  2. You're gonna do great! You'll be going into surgery just as I should be getting home - I'll be thinking of you!!
  3. All my best to you and PghMomof3! I too, will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers! Surgery for me is at 7:30 a.m.... less than 24 hours now!
  4. oooo, I'll ask my doc on Monday about popcorn... I could live on nibbling on the edges! :Banane43:
  5. I hadn't heard about not eating popcorn.. what's up with that?:pop2: And wine is liquid! I say a glass won't hurt! :Banane43:
  6. Don't look at it that way! You're not giving up the foods you love. You'll just be eating less of them when all is said and done. I'm being banded on Monday and I fully intend to, once I'm back on solid food, to enjoy food. My guy and I are all about eating out and enjoying a meal together. In fact, this last two weeks on the liquid diet, we both realize how much we enjoy that part of our lives. At my pre-op appointment last Thursday, the nurse was telling me exactly this - you don't have to give things up, you eat less and you'll be savoring and enjoying it even more!
  7. I've always gone into surgery with a hospital gown on.. I guess they can do what they want with me while I'm knocked out.. draw funny faces on my tummy or something :Banane43:

A friend of mine took a cruise to Mexico in April. She'd applied for passports for her family in January. By the beginning of April she hadn't received them due to the backlog.
  9. Will do! And best wishes for you too!
  10. Around day four of my pre-op I would have gladly traded one of my kids for a taco! And for both kids? A cheesburger!
  11. I'm being banded on Monday and am taking the week off.
  12. I agree - my guy and I have been together for 9 1/2 years now. He'd like that piece of paper, but me, having already been married once (he never has), I have no interest in it. We're great together, he loves my sons as if they were his own and life is good!
  13. Thank you for your kind words! You've made me smile!
  14. Only a few more days out for me! A little nervous, a lot excited! Disappointed that I'd only lost 4.2 pounds after almost 11 days on liquids (and less than 1000 calories a day). Such is life, I guess!
  15. My doctor has been doing bands since they were approved for the US. Of band he's put in, he has had no issues of erosion and a less than 1% rate for slippage. He told me today at my pre-op that the only erosions that his practice has seen have all been bands that were put in in Mexico. Not saying anything bad about Mexico, just passing on the info.
  16. Welcome! I'm being banded on Monday by Dr. Ganser and I can't wait!!!
  17. Had my pre-op today - surgeon spent a lot of time with me making sure I didn't have any unanswered questions. Everything is a go for 7:30 a.m. on Monday!! Best wishes to our May 4th banders and to our May 1-3 afterbanders!
  18. Good luck to you May 3rd bandsters! I've got my pre-op appointment this afternoon and only a few more days to wait!
  19. Read "The God Makers"... fascinating book about the Mormon religion. I think all religions are jacked up, in one form or another. I was raised Catholic and now consider myself agnostic. Hmm.. maybe that Catholic guilt won't let me admit that maybe I'm athiest? :target:
  20. How are our May 1st and 2nd banders doing??? I got a call from the surgeon yesterday and they don't feel my bladder infection will delay my surgery next Monday. Yea!!! Frankly, if I had had to start the liquid pre-op diet over, I'd have gone postal!!
  21. Thanks for your good wishes! The surgeon's office called and told me he'd been in surgery all day, but would run it by him tomorrow. They didn't seem to think it would be a problem, as I'm on a strong 7-day course of antibiotics. I've gotta go to Vegas for a couple of days (yep, dragging my protien powder and personal blender in my suitcase) - good luck to everyone being banded on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday! I'll be sending good thoughts your way!
  22. Yea, I know, but after being on this freakin' liquid diet for over a week, I'd really hate to have to start over....
  23. I no longer know if I'm having surgery on the 7th. I have a call into the surgeon and am awaiting a response. I was at urgent care today with a bladder infection. Also have something called mesenteric inflammation of the outer abdomonial wall. I hate today.
  24. So, I'm one week out from surgery. Had a pain in my lower left side for two days, was hoping I'd pulled a muscle gardening. Went ahead to went to my regular doctor and I have a UTI. Doc also ordered a cat scan and found that I have mesenteric inflammation of the abdominal wall. I no longer know if I'm going to be able to have surgery next Monday. Doc put me on Levequin for 7 days and faxed my CT results to my surgeon. I've left two messages at the surgeon's office today, but no call back yet. I can even explain how I feel right now... hopeless?
