    One Year Later

Jennifer - congrats and thank you! Thank you for the motivating words to someone like me who's been banded 6 days! Makes me feel like I can do it too!
  3. I had surgery on Friday so I'm 5 days in. All went well and I have not had the least bit of interest in food --- until today. Suddenly my 400 calorie days (cuz that's all I could manage) seem to have caught up, and my mind is on food. I haven't done anything crazy - I don't want to jeopardize my healing - but I'm feeling sad and down. I feel like I'm mourning the loss of something I've turned to for so long. And today I cannot wrap my head around the nevers - I'm probably never gonna eat bread/steak/a burger... again. I am going to get in some more protein today, drink my water, and try to stay positive. But I was wondering if anyone else has felt a sense of loss or despair so early in the process... Thanks guys

    Today Is A Struggle...

Thanks you guys - staying positive and really appreciative of all the support and positive words! By the way, I had some Greek yogurt and I'm not so hungry anymore!
  5. The diet differences sure can be confusing! I'm on day 5 and had tuna (puréed to a pulp) yesterday to try and boost my protein. Do you think it's the type of food (tuna versus say squash) that matters, or the consistency? Cuz, although I didn't, I could have probably sucked my "tuna mush" through a straw. I am following my doctors plan --- how can they be so dramatically different?!!! Confusing...

5 Days Post Op And Hungry!

Oh my gosh! I just posted this same thing, except my surgery was Friday. I spent until 2pm today having ZERO interest in food and now suddenly I'm so hungry!!! I'm glad to hear I'm not alone. Thanks.

Newbie To This Site... Banded One Year!

Hi - I'm happy to hear that you're doing so well a year in. That's awesome - congratulations! I just posted before reading yours that I'm five days in (versus your 365+ days in) and I'm having a hard time today. I think I'm hungry and I'm feeling down. Just curious if you went through that and how you worked through it in the early days if you did. Thanks for inspiring...
  8. Hi - I'm Alison. I got banded on Friday (5/25) and just wanted to check in and join the group. My experience so far: Surgery went great. Post-op pain was more than I expected but only for the first 2 days. No pain meds today. I have shoulder pain that moves when I change position - I assume this is gas. I have moved to puréed on day 3 per my instructions. I have no appetite but I am trying to get some Protein in through "shakes". I started walking around the block yesterday and went a little further today twice. Emotionally I've been up (glad it went well), down (from pain and fatigue) and asked myself more than once what did I do??? Staying positive though. Hope to meet some good people here.

    Air In Shoulders And Chest

I have these pains too! (Also banded on Friday). Today seems a little better, but it is so weird to feel the air/pain move when I change positions. I agree - gas pain is worse than incision pain but every time I walk I get rid of some (sorry to be gross but it's true).

    New Here

Hi Christine - I got banded on 5/25. I haven't gone yet either but since gas is moving I figure things will happen in time. Hope you're feeling ok. Alison
