Official March Loss Pics For Oct Sleevers

Thank you very much... This site helped me change most of my worries to feelings of anticipation... My only regret is not having been sleeved sooner... Good luck to you on your journey... Thanks... I was hoping others would post some of their before and after pics too. It still helps me when I see others doing good too...
  3. I am somewhat relieved to see that it wasn't just me that hit this wall at the end of February... Unfortunately I had to stop running my couple miles a day because I began suffering from plantar fasciitis in my left foot. However even with the loss of exercise I was still losing.. It makes me almost want to go back to a liquid diet til I lose my last 30 pounds... But I see I'm not alone... Has anyone broke through this wall?Aand what change did you make to do so? HW: 375+ Lbs SW: 349 Lbs CW: 260 Lbs Goal: 230ish Lbs

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Congrats to all the other OctoSleevers!!! My surgery date was 10/25 and have been able to live a much more normal lifestyle than I had envisioned. Food is no longer the main focus of my day. I only wish I would have done it sooner, but I feel so much better that I finally did. No more high blood pressure meds or the threat of being borderline diabetic. No more sleep apnea or snoring for that matter. I have two saviors now, Jesus & Dr Jeremy Korman. Hehe the compliments that I get everyday at work are overwhelming. But I love it HW 375+ - Early 2012 SW 349 - 10/25/12 CW 272 - 1/25/12 (3 months) 9/2012 1/2013

    Hair Loss After Surgery

Thanks for the Biotin & black currant tip. I am 37 but don't have the hair loss in either side of my family. All men in my family have died with full heads of hair. But I did notice being able to see my scalp recently after a haircut and my wife even made a comment. So I'm hoping my Navajo blood kicks in and I get my hair back. Otherwise I'll be forced to shave my head like I had in my knucklehead days. The major drawback is the negative attention I get from police when I'm in one of my rides...

    Tomatoes Soup

I hated tomato soup before surgery. But I gave Progresso's Tomato Basil a shot. And it was my new favorite food when I started full liquids! Two 'Skinnier' thumbs up!!!

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Hello Sleevetobers!!!! I was sleeved 10/25 and weighed in at 349 day of surgery. My weekly weigh in last Thursday had me at 303 pounds. Doctor has moved me onto puréed and select soft foods. I did have another surgery to remove a large keloid and skin tags on 11/15 and I had a hard time with the recovery from the surgery because of the fasting required before surgery. When I got home I felt weak and was ready to pass out. Before my wife called 911 I urged her to wait til my food got into my system. Once that happened I felt much better. This morning i was scheduled to have surgery to open my sinus passage ways so I can finally breathe through my nose again. It's gonna be nice to not be the 'fat heavy breathing' guy. So when I had surgery this morning I made sure to get my nutrition the previous two days before surgery and upped my calorie intake each day. It worked and my recovery today was fantastic. But when I stepped on the scale this morning I noticed my first weight gain since surgery of 1 pound. I just pray I didn't stunt my metabolism and will be able to continue with my weight loss. This is my last surgery that I will be having, I hope. I haven't hit any stalls yet, but I have been sticking to a low calorie intake. However, food has been so boring for me and since I'm home on disability for probably the next month, I have been playing Mr Mom. The kids love it cause I get down in the kitchen and on the grill. They've been feasting like some kings. I have cheated here and there because the stuff I've been cooking is insane. I've taken a bite a couple times, but spit it out after chewing a little bit and getting the flavor. No beef or pork yet. Does anyone else do this? It's helped but I caught myself actually swallowing a piece of biscuit I made. And the fried Jalapeño with cheese poppers I fried, well I peeled the breading off and ate the jalapeño and cheese. I felt like I had to go to confession and say 10 hail Mary's and our fathers afterwards. It's nice to read about others going through the same things that I'm going through because of the sleeve. It's tough especially since my wife is petite, skinny, and eats whatever she wants. She has a freaky metabolism. I just hope my kids have her metabolism cause they are all skinny and athletic. We don't allow them to drink soda or eat candy and have been raised like that because I didn't want obesity to become an issue in their life like it has mine. My flexibility has increased and now I can finally bend over and tie my shoes without my stomach being in the way. That is amazing cause I had to loosely tie my shoes to slip them on and always had to tie my work boots on a step or curb. I never shared this with anyone because of the embarrassment. But I wanted to yell out kinda like the kid from Big Daddy when he wiped his own arse. It took me back to that simple joy. Hope everyone else is finding these little things that are improving their quality of life like I have recently. Good luck on your journey in weight loss everyone!!! My kids and me at the MLS Cup watching LA Galaxy win back to back titles! Also Beckham's last game with the LA Galaxy. Good times!!! And I didn't have to argue with security regarding the protein shakes and yogurt I took into the stadium for my special diet. Great day!!!

    Pureed Recoepts!

I'm here in L.A Harbor Area, and we have a Chicano (Mexican-American) version of your fries cheese and gravy mixture. We call it Carne Asada Fries! Usually like Nachos but in lieu of tortilla chips you use fries. Fries covered with cheese, refried beans, cheese, crema (Mexican sour cream), guacamole, salsa (tomatoes, onions, chilis, cilantro), and chunks of Carne Asada. The perfect munchie & drunk food, but dietary suicide. I'm gonna miss this one...

    October 31St

That is awesome. On my Dr appointment I was 12 Days post op and lost 19 lbs since the day of surgery. I thought that was good' date=' but damn, you got me beat. Congrats! Well the Beano pills are chewable. So that's why I went with that one. Yesterday was my first day on full liquids and I had some Progresso Tomato Basil Soup and it was the best thing I ever tasted. Not really, but that's what I told my stomach.

    Today Is The Day.

Good luck and God speed on your recovery! Don't worry about a catheter because they don't need to do that. And you'll be up on your way to a healthier life before you know it.

10/25/12 sleeved here and I too am getting better day by day. Still a little tummy soreness and gas discomfort. Never before have I been so happy to burp when there's that gas discomfort. I bought some beano, but haven't tried it yet. I'm tired of the liquid diet though. How's your recovery going?

At least I'm not the only one freaking the hell out. I am DIEing to eat a piece of fruit. Or take a bite into anything that requires my teeth.

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

After telling my daughter that I was getting sleeved and showed them what the results are typically, she was happy. Once I left the room she was telling her mom that I would finally be able to get on the rides with them again. This was a big problem this summer cause we went to Six Flags Magic Mtn and I was unable to fit in any of the seats of the rides except the river raft ride. I used to only have to worry about legroom on some rides since I'm 6'1", but this time it was my fat that wouldn't fit. Unfortunately it broke my kids spirit of what is usually a fun experience since I had to sit out of the fun. Especially since I'm the fun daring parent who turns into a big kid at theme parks. And it was the 'wake up and do something' moment that made me start looking into WLS.

    Marijuanna

I had stopped blazin' about 10 months ago and am looking forward to partaking once again in the future. While getting the munchies is one major reason on why I stopped there were a couple strands that didn't give me that effect. Green Crack was one of them and was an awesome Sativa that was a definite 'get **** done' strain. I would mostly roll joints or use a bubbler with a sweet rum instead of water to give a sweeter flavor. However I'm going to get a vaporizer and use that in the future for a cleaner experience...

    Where Is Everyone From?

Hey Ruffus, Are there a lot of people from the area here on VST? I see you also went with Dr Korman. I had met with a couple other doctors and none of them were close to the professionalism and friendliness as Dr Korman. I am 10 days post-op and go meet with him on Tuesday for a follow up.

    Cauliflower Egg Fried Rice

I can't wait to try this when I can finally eat again. Even throw in some chicken or shrimp to change it up a bit a make it a whole meal. Thanks for the recipe.

  19. I was sleeved 10/25 and have noticed that I am able to consume liquids with greater ease for the past day or two. There isn't any pain or obscure discomfort so I don't think there is anything wrong. I am just going to attribute this to the stomach healing and becoming 'normal' once again. The only concern I have is that I do have a very high pain tolerance and was concerned if this is normal.
