  1. I am nervous about blood clots for some reason. I guess since they can cause death. I am a little nervous about the mood changes from hormonal changes as you lose fat. Otherwise I just want it to be here now. My doc said the calcium should be calcium citrate and I can't find it in chewable so I bought a pill crusher. I am going to order the protein powder that is no flavor to add to every I drink and eat. It is a little pricey but people say worth it.
  2. Rdo, that would be great. I know support is going to be important. I go to a support group meeting 2 weeks after surgery. I have my4 hour class on July 12. Let's stay in touch on our journey.
  3. MGM, I also started my weight issues when my thyroid went out of wack. Then baby, stress and loving food kept the weight building. I am 5'6 and am hovering 300 pounds. Oh my gosh, just saying that number scares me. It is so weird, up until this past year when I looked in the mirror I saw myself as how I used to look. Not until I saw pictures of myself 8 months ago did it all hit me. I did not recognize the person in the picture. I really could not believe it as me. Anyway, I am so ready, little nervous but ready!
  4. Yes future, thank you! Keep me up to date with progress. Are you trying to lose weight before surgery? I just feel as if I will get no where until I am sleeved.
  5. It is interesting how all docs are different. I do not have to lose any weight before surgery just have to do the 2 week preop diet. I need to lose 150 pounds to be healthy so I am ready to start this journey.
  6. Hi! I am scheduled for surgery in Aug. I will be at St Mary's with Dr. Brengman. Diminion Surgical is now Bon Secours Surgery Group and that is the group my doc is with.
  7. Hi!! I am set for Aug. 6th and can't wait. I am happy to have found you all on here. I am 39 years old and need to lose 140 pounds to be healthy. I haven't always had a weight problem, it started when I was 22 or so. Used to be college athlete and work out daily and now I can't barely walk a block without pain in knee, feet, back. I have to do this to be able to exercise and get my life back. I am happy for all of us to be on this journey together.
  8. I just found out I will have surgery on August 6. It is still a little far out but I had already planned a trip to the Bahamas in July. I live in Richmond Va and will be having surgery with Dr. Brengman, anyone else out there from this area? I am exited to start being active again, I have 150 pounds to lose to be healthy. Exited!!
