  1. Hi Want2be ... I just wanted to know what you finally did? I just got my 2nd fill this past Tuesday and feel exactly like you did. I had little restriction after the 1st and now this is just miserable!! A lot of sliming and PB but can keep down liquids. I don't know if I want to lose it like this. I'm thinking of going in for a slight unfil to be able to at least eat a small portion when going out in public, etc. But if the bad will loosen ... maybe this isn't necessary. What are your thoughts?
  2. Hi All- Newly banded on the 7th and I'm feeling SO BAD I'm almost regretting this. I can't get anything down due to the gas but have nauseau b/c i can't get anything down. Feeling week and he pain in my chest is killing me!! I'm glad to hear it get's better ... but when??
  3. Aug 7th here - one day post op! Feeling ok except for the port on my side. Hurts like hell!! But getting around and walking. Trying to drink more but NO appetite.
  4. Calym - Central New Jersey - Surgery Date 8/7/07
  5. HI All - Another Aug 7th here. I'm sooo nervous. I wish you all luck. Let's do keep in touch.
  6. Hi All - After a long hard fight with UHC's appeal board, I can't believe I'm finally banding. Now I'm thinking "Oh my God, I can't believe I'm actually doing this!!" Wish me luck!
  7. HI All - I'm living proof as well that you CAN fight UHC and win! The denied me less than 2 weeks before my surgery last Dec b/c I didn't have 5 years of morbid obesity. Even though I had other co-morbidities. It was really my fault b/c I hadn't documented them well. So from Dec until May (the 6 month period they give you) I was on a mission! I saw a sleep apnea doctor and was diagnosed with a mild case there. I also have a herniated disc and plantov faticia (achey feet) and I saw a pain management and foot doctor as well. ALL wrote letters saying they could treat me with various methods but if I lost weight the symptoms would decrease dramatically and possibly disappear. So with letter in hand, I then wrote my own 4 page letter re-stating all the facts and stats and showing them how this was really a last resort as my pain mgmt doctor had put me on limited mobility b/c of the back pain. I also had my doctor write another letter as well. The entire packet faxed was 11 pages. Guess what .. I was approved in less than 10 days!! With little help from anyone! So don't give up ... you can do it too. It just takes a little work and will power. My suggestion? Over-document them!!
  8. Congrats all ... I'm finally participating in the talks! My surgery is set for 1 week from now!! I can hardly believe it. I was declined 1 week prior back in Dec and I fought UHC and won! But then I was like "oh heck ... it's finally going through and I have to do it!!" Wish me luck! Glad to hear you're all feeling well.
  9. Does anyone know / have the list of all the types of co-mobidities?
  10. Good luck to you as I'm in the same boat. United Healthcare held my file for 30+ days and told me 5 days before my surgery that I was not approved for not having 5 years of 40+ BMI. I only had 3. This was back in early December. So now I've spent the past months with a strong conviction to be diagnosed with every co-mobidity there is. So far, I have been diagnosed with a sleep apnea. I had my ruptured / herniated front disc formally diagnosed (with a limited work prescription). also now have pantov focia (EXTREME foot pain), have migraines and going to get my acid reflux disease formally diagnosed next week! If they deny me at this point - I'm really going to be figtin'! The key is co-mobidities!!
