Band 4-24-12 lost 25 lbs

My doctor said that he doesn't believe in giving fills , that if he can , he rather not give any fills at all. I'm checking into another doctor that does believe in giving fills hoping that will help and the scales get moving again

Seem people thought that my wieght would fall off faster for some reason , si now when friends , family see me , they say have u lost any more wieght? I was 300lbs when band now 6 and a half weeks out , im down to only 271 lbs . When I have to say , no I havnt lost any more wieght , they seem disappointed , I beginning to feel like I'm letting them down , I'm stuck and the scales won't move , still have no fills , and am hungry a lot, I'm starting to feel that I really should check into getting this taking out and getting a bypass, I want to lose this wieght more then they want me to, I'm sure , just wish they would stop asking ,

Yeh I think 3 hours is pretty good , if I can get more night like that I'd be happy , I'm hopeing with more wieght lost that I won't be needing mine also, we will see,

I'm thinking if mine wasn't a full face mask , that I might be able to sleep better, I do sleep better then I was , just not any longer then 3 hours. Which I did last night and it felt great. Gosh I love my sleep , when I can get it. So yea the machine helps and I'm told that it may go away with more wieght lost .

Wow sorry about ur ins. Who is ur ins. I too am waiting to have my band removed and have the Bp done and am fearful my ins may turn me down , I'm on Medicare and medical I'm on disability. Hopeing to have my Bp soon please lord, I feel for you, it would be horrible if they turn me down . It's like my last hope , I'm do sorry and I hope you and ur doctors can find a way around it and get the ins approval

I fell asleep right away but woke up a hour later it was a restless sleep I always had problems sleeping but now that I'm 300 lbs it has gotten a lot worse, my problem I fall asleep driving , sitting and talking. I have no problem falling asleep, it's just staying asleep, I've now have my cpap machine and still find it hard to stay asleep, even tho I may sometimes sleep 2-2half hours now , it met have to do with me losing wieght from 300 to 271 I have the band and am wanting to have it removed and have the bypass ,

I'm down from 300 to 270 from 4-24-12 to today 6-6-12 and I'm losing so very slowly , but I still have the saggy or extra hanging skin now even tho losing slow can give u time for ur skin to shrink doesn't mean that is going to happen for everyone, I'm proof of that my tummy is the worse spot , so in a year I'll be having that tummy tuck then I might as well have my breast done . Ins covers it. But my point is losing slow does that always keep u frm having extra gaming skin , and for me slow is doing the same thing as fast would do .

I mean from 300 to 270 lbs

I was band 4-24-12 and today is 6-6-12 and still no fill , I've lost 25 lbs down from 300 to 275 . But I'm hungry all the time I feel as I did before and wonder why did I do this to myself? , and the doctor that I have says he doesn't believe in fills . Do what the hay am I supose to do with this thing in me that isn't helping at all, I'm hungry and very afraid because Everytime that I've lost wieght just to gain it all back then a bunch more , so afraid of this happing . Boo!

I'm now down to 271 that from 300 lbs on 4-24-12 when I got my band . Today's date is June 6th -12. I call another doctor and he wants metro come in and see him , yahoo I may be getting my bypass after all even tho I've been losing very very slowly with the band , I much rather lose faster with the bypass , the band make the food get pluged , come back up, acid reflux, port sticks out , and I've read so many megatives things about the band , I'm allergenic to plastic , idk if the band is plastic or not but I'm worried myu body soon will start rejecting it. Just the hosp tape makes me break out really bad and burns , so yeh worried about that, all the class I took and test and studying I did was for gastric bypass then 1 and half weeks before my operation the nurse tells me that I can only have the band , because I'm bipolar and have depression problems which I take Meds for and see a doc once a mth for . Whom wrote two letter saying that it would benefit me more to have the bypass then not, I had my heart set on the bypass. Lapbabd us so slow and I'm starving the doc don't believe in fills so that's one reason I'll call a diff doctor , if he says I can ge a revive or band removed and a bypass then at least he would be able to give me fills , I didn't go thur all this to not get fills just don't make sense .

How is that possible to get a band over a bypass? I've heard of bypass over the band but never band over the bypass, isn't there stomach to small?

How do you get a band over bypass? Do you mean there is people out there that have a bypass then are not happy and then get a lap band ? Man and thier stomachs are really small, there seems like there won't be any stomach left once they put the band on, how? I don't understand that one, seems to me that every one that I've know that has gotten the bypass has lost alot of wieght and love it . Not one has gain there wieght back maybe a lb or two but not more , they look great and it was fast so yes they have hanging skin but with Medicare anyway when u get the bypass a boob job and tummy tuck is also covered , I'm trying the lap band , it's nice to know if it doesn't work for me , that it can be removed then I can have the bypass, I feel there is still hope if I fail again, fingers crossed a lot of cal. Counting and dealing with a lot of hunger pains exercise I'm giving it my all . I'm 5 and half weeks out and no fills and have only lost 25 lbs . And that was lost the first two weeks , now I'm stuck , the scales r not moving . Anyway I was just wondering how it is possible for someone to go from gastric bypass to Lapland?

I too have to sleep with a machine , but once u lose wieght , u might not need the machine . I'm 5and half weeks out . Still can't sleep , have lost 25 lbs . Tho . I don't like the machine mainly because of the mask , full face mask yuk , I scare my dogs when I put it on . Lol the cpap machine ain't no thing and ur sleep problems are supose to improve once u lose wieght.

Thank you all, I feel much better now , I will give my doctor another call , and also will start looking for another one . The doc I got now I've only meet about 3 times all the other app with the doctor I only saw the nurses, so it's really hard to talk to him personally , but he pretty much goes along with the nurses head nurses, what they recommend . And they told me , that in July if I don't have two mth food record that they will refuse to see me , even if I accidentally forget them , its a 1-1 half hour trip to sac , I'm not going to forget my food records . But her saying that and that it totally up to them weather I get any fills , I just assumed it was a given when u got the band . I didn't know I was haveing to earn the fill or kiss rear end to get on the nurse good side then hopefully pray that they will allow me a fill. But she said they try not to give fills , because it can cause complications , like infections, so they rather not do them, and even if I do the 2 mos food record kiss butt then they still may decide no fill, but yeh I will jump right on trying harder and positively will find a different doctor , maybe one that I get to talk to , lol. I just felt kind of like a herd of cattle , a group of people they gave dates to do the lap band and pushed us thur. My doctor after the operation came in and say my job is done that he was all done that's all he has to do with it now , that his job was done . And I remember thinking what? Wait a min what about fills and after care, now I understand , because when I do have app to see him , I still don't get to see him only the nurses. Lol

Was band 4-24-12 at Uc Davis in sac .ca. Was 300 lbs now 275 lbs. have no fills , next app isn't till July . I asked the doctor about getting a fill because if being hungry all the time. And they told me that they don't like to do fills , unless they have too. And that they won't even consider me for s fill unless I have 2 mos food records and probe that I need one , and then it's still up to them wheather I get s fill or not . I have 2 mos food records . But July seems so far away , mean while I'm struggling to not gain wieght and drink loots of water for hunger pains . Is this normal? I thought that u get the bsnd and u get fills to help the bsnd Nd you, I didnt know that I get the. Snd and your done . No fills at all. I thought about looking for a diff doctor , that would talk to me and do the fills , also one that is closer to where I live, in great gridley , ca. I heard there is one in Chico. Last time I saw the doctor I left feeling shamed and a failure it was my 2 week after operation app to have staples pulled . I had list 18 lbs And was told that I wasn't losing fast because I was doing something wrong with my eating habits , like not staying with liq then purée diets . But I did stick to the diets , I too wish I would lose more and faster . And that's when I ask Bout getting s fill because I was starving , they said drink more water and inform me that they try not to do fills if they can get away with it. Now I'm wondering what the heck!?!? What? Why? I'm starving and I feel like I did before the band except for my booboo hurting and feeling the port against my ribs . Why did I have this done?what have I allowed them to do to me ? Help? Is this a normAl? Not to get fills? An I being a baby and wanting more then I'm supose to have? Am I expecting to much, I just want some restriction , to not feel like I'm starving Nd my feel my stomach eating my back bone from hunger. Should I find another doctor that will do the fills?

M from the great town of gridley , ca. Went to sac. Uc Davis is where I was operated in snd revived my band uc I was 300lbs. Today I'm 275lbs. No fills yet , next doctor app will be in July and I'm hoping snd praying that I can get a fill. Seems so far out , I'm afraid I might start gaining wieght back.
