  1. I'm dreaming of that day! My doctor told me that I can start having soft fish on Wednesday, so I have been consuming my days of thinking about "what kind of fish I want and where shall I get it from".. Wednesday can not get here any sooner!
  2. They are all chewable vitamins from Baritric Advantage. I think I will call my dr in the morning. Thanks!
  3. Today marks my 2 week post op and I'm noticing I have been having trouble with my vitamins. When I take all my vitamins, I'm full all day and very nauseous. So yesterday, I didn't take any vitamins and was able to eat and drink more and no nausea- so today just tried to take my first vitamin of the day, and I threw it up! Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else? I just seem to feel so much better without them. And yes, I have tried taking them at night, I even tried taking a different vitamin every hour, to no avail.
  4. Hi All, my name is Jacqi! Mother of 2 boys, married for 6 years. Live in Dallas and work in Plano. Surgery was on the 18th of June at Doctors Hospital done by Dr.Barker. Still having buyers remorse, so I think the support group would be great for me!
  5. And did you just eat that plain or you put it in a cracker?
  6. Thanks! I'm really wanting something with a "shrimp taste", I bought a can of cream of shrimp, but that tasted nothing like shrimp to me.
  7. Hi guys, just wondering if you blend something into a liquid/purée form, does it still taste the same?
  8. My son just turned 13, and also I haven't lost that much weight for him to notice as I'm only 2 weeks post op. But I do know, my son was embarrassed whenever I was around him and his friends due to my weight.
  9. If you haven't asked already, " do you have to have chewable vitamins forth rest of your life or can you can/if you can switch to capsules?" How many ounces of food does he suggest you eat during each meal? How much water would he like you to drink? Ask about exercising? Hope this helps!
  10. I'm just 1 week post op today, and having a very hard time! I keep thinking about a cheeseburger and fries, keep saying "why did I do this to myself" ! I'm so hungry! I just say do alot of research and this group is Awesome!!!
  11. OMG! I was just thinking this yesterday! When can I have a Gulp? LOL.... I actually forgot about the sips one time and took a big gulp and suffered for about 10 minutes-thought I was having a heart attack!
  12. Thanks Everyone! My water is at room tempature, but I just want to gag at every sip!
  13. Surgery was Monday- came home Tuesday night. Since I have been home I have only had 2 Popsicles ( one yesterday and one today) and only sips of water.. I have not been able to get thru half a 16 ounce bottle of water since I been home. I just feel nausous everytime I start to sip on my water. Is this normal?
  14. I changed surgeons at the end. My change was due to insurance reasons. It was hard at first, because my new surgeon required different things than my first surgeon - it became very frustrating very fast. But, I dealt with it and stuck it out -Surgery was yesterday:)
  15. I'm alive!!!! LOL...Surgery went great, had alot of pain and gas but other than that I'm fine. Still in the hospital, should be going home tonight! Thanks again to everyone for the reassurance!
  16. Having Surgery at Doctors Hospital in Dallas... I'm feeling much calmer now. My husband took the kids out so, I could be alone and get myself together. My doctor didn't advise me to take a laxative either, but I took one just for the heck of it! Thanks again for everyone's word of encouragements!
  17. Thanks everyone.. Guess I will get up and clean and get my bag packed! Surgery is in Dallas, Texas. Im sooooo glad I'm not the only one that had these concerns.
  18. So, I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am for surgery and all of a sudden I have gotten so nervous. I can't move out the bed. I need to clean my house, pack a bag for the hospital, etc... But I can't seem to grasp that tomorrow is the "Day". I keep thinking "what if I die during surgery"..."what if I go thru this and don't lose 1 pound" "what if that egg white I ate during my pre op liquid diet will delay surgery"?? I haven't told many people that I'm having this surgery so I can't really call and express my concerns with alot of people.
  19. You are NOT alone! My last "real meal" was Sunday (surgery schedules 6:18) and I ate everything! But it meant nothing.., as I'm now on the all liquid diet and I'm still craving one more cheeseburger!
  20. Thanks everyone! I called my dr's office and they said "No" to me eating eggs...ugh! I started eating every two hours, and I came home from work and mixed cream of potato with cream of chicken and that seems to have me pretty full, I just keep saying 3 more days! But if I can only have 1 MORE hamburger, I would probably be okay..LOL
  21. Thanks! I never thought about calling my doctors office- I will call them now, to see if I can atleast have a scrambled egg..and I wasnt eating/drinking something every 2 hours- that may help me also.
  22. Okay, so I had to do a 1 week pre op liquid diet...and I'm falling apart. Today is Day 4 and its the worse day, I'm at work and my stomach is growling...I just want some fries, a cracker, a slice of bread...something... And I thought quitting smoking was the hard part, this is torture! Someone please give me some good words!! Sincerly Desperatly Hungry In Dallas
  23. I have not told anyone about the abnormal stress test, and that I have to see a cardiologist- becasue I know my family will just continue to worry and discourage me from having the surgery.
  24. Yeah, I guess you are right- I never looked at it like that. Thanks!
  25. I'm new here, but didnt have any other place to vent my frustrations. So, I have been going back and forth since August to have surgery, I have done all my dietician appts, psych eval, sleep study, etc...Finished in January- and than my doctor at that time tells me- "he is no longer in my network and my insurance wont approve"..so I had to switch doctors, and this new doctor requested additonal testing..Soo...I take a stress test with him...finally get everything submitted to my insurance, got my APPROVAL in 5 days, get a surgery date of June 18th! And than the nurse calls.....she states my stress test came back abnormal and they can not continue with my surgery until I have more testing and get cleared by a cardiologist. Is this a sign saying I shouldnt have the surgery?? My approval is good for 6 months, so I'm praying everything gets cleared up before my approval expires.
