  1. So today I have started feeling this burning/sharp pain at my port site. I haven't had any fluid put in or taken out in about a month, has anyone else had this before?
  2. I do have to admit sex has gotten much better since the band. My husband and I haven't been this active since we were newly weds. Multiple "O"s are much easier. LOL anyway.
  3. Well hello there... I am in San Antonio. I am roughly 7 weeks out from surgery and down 42 pounds.
  4. Ok here is a bit of the back story. I was banded 5/16/12 that weekend I had a hard time drinking fluids.. so that Monday I went in for an unfil ( they put 3 cc during surgery ) that unfill I had 2 cc taken out. A month later we tried to put the 2 cc back in and it was just to much for me at the time, and had to take 1.2 cc out. Today I went in for my 2nd fill and could only tolerate another 1cc for a grand ol totaly of 2.8 cc in my 10cc band. The PA said that this isnt super common, so am I the only one. Has anyone else had this issue?

  6. I havent noticed anything out of the norm.
  7. Honestly every surgeon is differnt as to exactly how long they want you to do each phase. It usually goes, liquids, mushy food, soft food and then regular food.
  8. I have done califlower kinda like mashed potatoes. Mashed up brocoli... with a bit of cream of mushroom soup ( reduced fat only 50 calories per half can ) sprinkled with cheese then bake it for a 15-20 mins.
  9. I think you should be fine.. but when in doubt call your surgeon.
  10. I was banded on 5/16/12 and have lost 31 pounds.
  11. I did to... you just really need to find a doctor you trust. I know its hard especially having a medical background.. we tend to make the worst patients.
  12. About a week after my surgery when I was on full liquids, our friend had a birthday dinner at Red Lobster so my husband and I went. I order just a cup of soup and the waitress was really rude and even came out and said " As your meal? IS that it?" She kept comming back and giving me weird looks. I just think of it this way... its their problem NOT yours. People are idiots it is what it is.. at the end of the day your happiness and how you view yourself is all that matters.
  13. Hello.. From San Antonio and was banded with True Results on 5/16/12
  14. I guess its only fair that I share mine. I always knew I was heavy, but it started to affect my marriage and I couldn't "be" with my husband out of fear that he was thinking the same things about me that I was thinking talk about a mood killer. Then also in Febuary I ended up breaking my computer chair. Oh my word is so hard to see that actually typed out in black in white for all to see.
  15. I am just curious what was your final straw of being overweight that caused you to choose lap band?
  16. amandai84 feel free to add me

  18. I am actually feeling great. A little frustrated since I have hit a wall as far as the scale goes but hopefully that will change after Tuesday when I go in for my first fill.

  20. I am 4 days post op, and anytime I drink anything a few mins later I am at my bathroom sink with the feeling of needing to throw up ( and end up spitting up that really runny saliva) I am also feeling this gurgling sensation in my stomach. Is this common? Do I nee to go into my dr or ER due to it being a Saturday?
  21. Spoken like a true man right there lol.. they dont call it a "job" for nothing.
  22. I was just banded yesterday morning. For the dry mouth sugar free popciles have been a GOD send. I really havnt had much pain today and even wanted to walk down the street until my husband told me to take it easy for another couple of days and ending up zonking out on the couch.
  23. OMG... that is just too funny. I nearly died. I know my hubby would be asking for it.
  24. Congratulations!!! Any tips you would like to divulge to those who are new to using their bands?
