My name is Lauren. I am a 21 year old female. My whole life i have struggle with my weight, i can honestly say that i have never been thin, i dont know what it feels like and i am so excited to come to that day. I decided to have lapband about 2 years ago but i got sick at the time and had to have my gallbladder removed which complicates things.

I chose to have lapband because of the quality of life i was living. i had gotten to the point that i was comfortable with what i looked like and the limitations that my weight applied to my life. I dont have children yet but just playing with my friends kids and my cousins i knew i needed to change my life around if i was going to be a good mom and be able to life a full life.

When i was 11 i was diagnosed with insulin resistance. This made losing weight a billlion times harder. Then came the diagnosis of PCOS and Sleep Apnea. all of these conditions work against you in the battle to lose weight. It was a war i knew i couldnt win on my own. I have never really been an "eater" persay but none the less all of these conditions were working against me and i knew that your every day regiment was not going to help me with this war. I knew it was time for drastic measures. I did my research and it took about 2 years to make up my mind,

Yesterday i started the journey to a happier, healthier, more enjoyable life.
