    Lap Band Vs C-Section

I've had 3 c-sections, much longer recovery with them. The lap band is easy, just a couple days of anesthesia fog then onto feeling good. The hardest part for me was not having food for a few weeks after, just didn't feel like I could get my strength back. I was feeling good after about 5 days. Good luck, you'll do great!

    My Nsv

A couple weeks ago I water-skied for the first time in about 20 years, it felt great! M two youngest kids didn't even know I could. Yes, the little things mean a lot!
  3. You are going to love it! I was banded with plication on 4/16 and am down 25 lbs. I have had one fill and have found no problems with eating anything, in moderation of course. I ate 1/2 of a kids meal last night and was stuffed. The first few days were a little rough, but it's easy once you get past that. It just takes a little more thinking when I eat. I was really concerned that I wouldn't be able to eat things that I love, I was having anxiety about it. But that hasn't been the case, when I'm craving something I just have a bite or two and that's enough. You'll do great!
  4. I've had 3 c-sections, gallbladder removal and then the lap band 4 weeks ago. My c-sections were a much more painful recovery than the others. With my lap band I felt worse from the anesthesia than the actual pain from the surgery. Now that I'm older I just don't bounce back as quickly too. By day 3 I was feeling much better, but was still a little wiped out from the surgery until about day 5. Good luck, you'll breeze right through it!

    Lump Below Ribs?

Weird to read this post tonight! I just noticed a similar thing. I have a hard part right on my scar that's pretty big and then my port (I think) about an inch above that. It all just surfaced today. My port was right below my scar before, I could feel it.

    Withdrawl?? Did You?

I was really worried about this too. But at 4 weeks post-op I am able to eat anything, much less of course. I find that a bite of something I'm craving satisfies me just fine.

    Time Off Work

I was planning on 3 days off, and after surgery decided to take a week. I'm glad I did, those couple of days made a big difference in how I felt.
  8. I only had a couple waves of nausea, and they passed quickly. The hardest part for me following surgery was caffiene withdrawls, and not doing good on the Lortab they gave me. Once I had a cup of coffee and stopped the pain meds I started to feel much better. Almost 4 weeks later I am down 21lbs and am eating anything I want, just much less than I used to. Looking forward to my first fill in a couple weeks. Hang in there everyone, you will do fine. Just take it easy for a few days.
  9. Another interesting thing they had me do in the surgery center for nausea was to smell rubbing alcohol prep pads. I had never heard of it before, but it worked. So even at home if I felt it coming on I could smell the alcohol and it calmed my stomach. Hopefully you are feeling better today!
  10. I was banded with plication on 4/16, I was sore for a couple days but by day 3 was much better. I didn't have too much pain. Hang in there, it will get better!
  11. Hi everyone, I have been watching this site for months now as I have been preparing for my surgery. I was banded on Monday and tonight (Wednesday) I still feel horrible. My stomach and incisions seem okay, but I have a fever and a horrible headache. Did anyone else experience these same effects after surgery? Thanks, I appreciate any stories you can share.
  12. I was banded on 4/16 also, I have a lot of pressure in the middle of my chest. I assume this is where the band is? I was planning on going back to work today, now I'm shooting for Monday. Good luck everyone, I can't wait until life gets back to a little normal.
  13. Thanks everyone, I did call the doctor yesterday. They said as long as it's under 101 it's probably okay, just watch it. Maybe I'll try a little coffee like suggested, my headache could be caffiene withdrawal.
