  1. Elracimo, I have just finished the orientation at Newton Wellesley and plan on going to the next 2 classes offered over the next two weeks. I hope to schedule my first appointment with the surgeon soon! Is RYGP a gastric bi-pass? The reason I ask is that I had my entire large intestine removed due to Ulcerative colitis and because I have had surgery on my intestines, Gastric Bipass was ruled out completely (my first choice was the sleeve anyway!) I have what is commonly called a J-pouch (which is a recreation of a colon from the small intestine) Anyway, I am wondering if you have made any progress with a date and what you think of the process at Newton Wellesley? Thanks and hope things are better!
  2. From Southern NH too... not too far from Hudson actually, but a little east. I am just now starting out... I go to the informational semiar at Newton Wellesley on April 26th. Ckel70, maybe you can let me know how you like the program? How long did it take from start to surgery? I called my insurance company today and learned that they will cover the surgery and that the hospital is a participating hospital, so I just need to get started!
  3. How's the pre-op going? I am from the Seacoast of New Hampshire- just up the road from you and I was sleeved 10-13-11 by Dr Looser at Portsmouth Hosp. Great program/ great care BTW. We should have a regional get together- there's another gal here who just sleeved this month at Brigham's. I am from Southern NH and am just starting out on this journey. I am looking at Hospitals and programs now. Portsmouth is an option for sure! It's a bout a half hour from me.
