  1. Thanks y'all..I've tried my sides and I just can't make myself turn all the way to my side..so I guess ill sleep on my back til I can do otherwise! :/
  2. So..I know I've posted a few threads since my surgery 7/17, but this is just something else I'm wondering about. What position was/is the easiest to sleep in? I have always either slept on my stomach, or sides..now I've been on my back and I HATE it. I try to prop up on pillows and every little way to be comfy, but NO help! This is during the healing time, btw.
  3. I'm trying as hard as I can, but I hate the way anything feels going down. Ugh. I am so ready to be out of this phase. I tried a sugar free pudding and I couldn't even eat it all and usually that takes me about a minute! Lol. Just irritated :/
  4. Thanks y'all. I'm trying, but its weird..like I have no desire to put anything in my mouth. But I'm gonna try to not stress it, because I'm doing only what my body is allowing me. I know time heals, so I will give it time!
  5. My surgery was July 17th, I came home yesterday and have been either laying down, sleeping, or just loopy. I know I am not getting all of my liquids or Protein in right now. Is it ok? I'm just still hurting a lot and don't feel like moving around or drinking/eating anything. Is this normal? I'm nervous and definitely do NOT want to end up back in the hospital because of dehydration.
  6. Thanks for the responses! I'm definitely not missing the hunger right now. And I will call my dr. Monday if I still have the numb butt. Lol its made it nearly impossible to sit for a long time..even when I'm sleeping, I wake up with the urge to jump out of bed because my butt hurts so bad. Who knows! But ill be talking to the dr soon, and may have to get some gas-x strips. We shall see! Thanks again, y'all!
  7. So I had my vsg Tuesday the 17th..its been rough these past few days! Gas is killing me, I feel it all over my body it seems! Also, (maybe tmi), but my left butt cheek has been hurting sooo bad! I just felt of it to see if it feels bruised, but it actuallu feels numb. What in the world? I'm confused. Also, how long did it take for you to get hungry for anything? I came home yesterday, and I've been sleeping for the most part, but I am not hungry at all!! I've been sipping Water..but nothing else..just not hungry yet. Idk?
  8. She checked it on the upper right arm and it was really high so she said she thought wasn't accurate so she did it on my lower right arm and it was 168/97. So she did it twice and went by the second reading. I just hope everything will be ok. Good luck to the other tomorrow sleevers, ill be praying!!
  9. Thanks for the quick response! The pre op nurse seemed like she didn't believe me when I said that I've never been diagnosed with hypertension. I said "could it be because I am nervous?" She said not usually..but then she said there is such a thing as "white coat syndrome" where patients bp goes up when seeing a dr or nurse because of nerves. So..I don't know. She didn't clarify much for me, and then when she said everything will go ahead as planned UNLESS I get a phone call. So now I guess I will just wait. Thanks again for responding so quick, my nails are slowly disappearing. Lol
  10. So I went in for my pre-op visit today, surgery tomorrow at 8am! My blood pressure was 168/97, so the nurse called my surgeons nurse and told her. When I was leaving, the pre-op nurse said surgery is still planned for tomorrow unless I get a phone call stating otherwise. Ugh. Now I feel like I have to worry about that. Anyone else have this issue??
  11. I would also like to hear from those a year or more out. My surgery is Tuesday and I am super nervous and excited. My nerves are getting bad, I feel like I need reassurance that this is the right thing to do! I'm still gonna do it, of course!
  12. Good luck tomorrow!! Mine is Tuesday, nervous as ever..but excited! Hope you have a speedy recovery & God be with you!
  13. I've been telling myself the same thing, then I think "what if I haven't given myself enough time?" Its been super hard for me..I put broccoli in the blender today and made it like applesauce and I ate every bite, yea I'M HUNGRY! Lol but I am slowly getting better..its just veryyyy hard!!
  14. Thanks for the responses y'all! I was put on a 10 day pre op liquid diet, so I've been on it since Saturday, surgery is next Tuesday the 17th! Super excited and NERVOUSSSS!! I'm also nervous about my pre-op labwork I had done yesterday, I always think they are gonna call and tell me I'm deathly sick and can't have surgery! :/ nerves are a sucky thing!!
  15. I wonder why certain drs do different amounts of time for the diets?
  16. Hi everyone, I know this is probably a common question..but..how long were you on your liquid diet? Just give a number of days, I'm just curious
  17. I feel your pain! its never a fun thing to deal with!
  18. Thanks! Ill be letting the dr know everything tomorrow!
  19. @vhoke1 sorry to hear all that happened! I'm gonna tell him about everything though! If we have to post pone then oh well. And @phillygirl8133, hope you don't get that mess!! I've been praying mine is just sinuses and it'll clear up SOON!
  20. FYI: I have a cold or sinus infection or something. Sore throat and stuffy nose.
  21. Well today starts my liquid diet, so far so good..but I've been sick since Thursday. We even left from our vacation to come home a day early bc 4 out of 10 of us got sick. No biggie really, but we were over the beach and sick. Anyways, I'm concerned about what medicines I can/cannot take? I bought tylenol pm liquid night time med. Is that bad? I'm so confused, and I do NOT want to post-pone surgery. It'll be on the 17th..I go to the dr. Monday for pre-op bloodwork and all that. should I tell him I've been sick? Or what? Please help?? Thanks in advance..
  22. Congrats! So exciting, isn't it? Time flies by, but I have a feeling it'll drag on for the next 30 days for me! Lol
