  1. Here's what Shelby Brown in billing at Wadley emailed me about cost: Hi Shannon, We have a cash price for uninsured folks. It is $10,000 for the hospital portion and $5,500 for the physician portion. This amount has to be paid up front before the surgery. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Shelby Hope this helps!
  2. How do the American doctors feel about doing fills if you go to Mexico for the surgery? How do you make the arangements for fill doctors before the surgery?
  3. Go Sugarbear!!!! Congratulations! Did anyone have to appeal to get their insurance to pay? Any advice on how to go about it?
  4. Dumb question....What is RNY? Is there a thread that can help me decipher all the abbreviations? T/Y all for the warm welcome!
  5. Everything I've read says that you should consider it permanetly. Can it be temporary? Why? I will probably use Dr. K or H. and I really like being able to see what you folks before me are concerned with. Thanks so much!
  6. Hey folks, I've been watching you guys a few weeks, trying to learn more about lap band as I'm considering it. It's really inspiring and encouraging to see all the success you've achieved. I was wondering which of you have had the band the longest? Has anyone had complications? What would you recommend to someone trying to research to find out if this is the right decision for them? I've signed up for next week's seminar, so hopefully that's my first step.
  7. Mainly, I know my insurace won't cover it and we're not in a position at the moment to take out another loan and have another payment. (We could, but things would be extremly tight!) Plus I don't know a whole lot about lapbanding and I've been spying on you guys for the past few weeks to learn more and it's really inspiring! You've inspired me to try and exercise more!!!:clap2: I'm schedule to attend an seminar next week.:rolleyes Basically, if a whole pile of money dropped out of the sky on me right now, Lap-band would be the first thing I do!
  8. I appreciate the quick reply! How much protein a day is enough?
  9. I haven't been banded yet, but I'm curious as to what are the portion sizes of the liquid diet you folks eat before and after surgery? Also, do you take over the counter supplements or prescribed? :guess I'm seriously considering doing this and I'm trying to get myself psyched up.
