  1. Oh, I think I get it. You can add to each other's reputation. Evidentally we can all sort of "rate" each other's support and helpfulness! Check your boxes out now! I'm going to add to your reps.
  2. I wonder how priss is doing today? Are there mediators or web mangers that watch the boards? Maybe they will know what that green box is about???
  3. <p>I use to have Anthem BC/BS in KY. They coverd nothing. My brother is a teacher in VA and has Anthem in VA and he said they cover nothing as well. If you're a teacher there a FEW financing option available to us. Just let me know if I can help.
  4. Anybody know if being pregnant increases your risk on the band slipping? I'm planning on having another child in the next few years, and will hopefully be banded in early June. I never even thought that the band might slip during pregnancy.
  5. The Doctor in Mexico. How was your experience?
  6. Who was your doctor?
  7. I grew up around Blacksburg and this says it all...
  8. GO Billy! You can do it, Priss! I can't wait until I'm in your position!!! Let us know how everything goes. Good Luck! What site, Lisa? I'm getting lost!:omg:
  9. What do y'all think about organizing a clothes swap?
  10. I didn't have my loan approved when they had the meeting last week and I didn't know you could attend without being banded. My son has speech therapy tonight so I won't be able to make it to the meeting in Mt. Pleasant (even if I could find my way there). I'm not a native so I have no idea where Mt. Pleasant is.
  11. How many meetings with the surgeons are schedule before surgery? I'm running LOW on sick days. I had that weird nose to mouth thingy too. I sneezed all night long!! I think I may have to go back for a follow up though. I'm supposed to hear from my doc by Firday.
  12. Sleep study went okay, but they couldn't tell me anything because there was no doctor there. I think I may have to go back to a follow up in a week or slow. That thingy in your nose is really annoying!
  13. Can the sleep study diagnose sleep disorders other than apnea? I can't ever remember being able to sleep peacefully and relax my entire life, except when I was pregnant. I hope maybe I can get some help with that too.
  14. Will one of you give me the run down on what goes on at the first appointment? I was told talk to the nutrionist, what to expect will be discussed, and a physical. You know, I have a serious case of white coat phobia and I'd like to know more about the physical.
  15. I'm scheduled for my pre-op appointment at 10am on April 30th! Maybe I'll see you there Lisa! I have that darned Sleep Study tomorrow at St. Michael's and then off I go! Lisa, you asked on the other thread where I will go to meetings? I will go to Texarkana starting as soon as the next one comes up. I use the other thread because Dr. H told me to talk patients on both of them so that I can learn more about how PS works, I'm so excited to get started!
  16. Can I request which doctor does my surgery????
  17. I talked to Ms. Betty this morning and I'm going in for my nutrion evaluation, etc. on April 30th. We're shooting for the 1st week of June when school lets out.
  18. I'm actually in Arkansas around Texarkana and we have BC/BS Health Advantage and it covers no WLS, but they will get you a discount at Weight Watchers and Curves. Our policy has an exclusion! It's so hard to watch the TX side teachers be able to do this and know that I'm doing the same job they are and my insurance stinks! I have to get CAT scans and MRI's preapproved even if it's an emergency. All kinds of disappointing stuff like that has happend to us!
  19. I just spoke to a co worker who's niece had this done and she told me that ALL bands leak. Is that true?????
  20. Lisa, I've been doing the exact same thing! I'm trying to lose as much as I can before surgery by following the liquid diet (not to mention getting in the mind-set to change the way I think about food), but I have those gosh darned 5lbs coming back every other week! We must be trading them back and forth!
  21. I just thought I'd throw this out for any teachers who have had trouble trying to pay for lapband like I have. I've reasearched as many loans as I could the past month and half and found that the NEA is offering great APR on loans right now. Go to www.nea.org to find them. You can PM me if you have questions too! I hope this helps save you some time.
  22. I teach Art to grades 6-12 and love every minute of it. I've been heavy my whole life and feel like I'm ready to do this. I've had a really hard time trying to figure out how to pay for my band since my insurance doesn't cover it. How disappointing! I found that the NEA is offering great rates on loans right now and thought that I would share with any other teachers who are facing this challenge as well. You can go to www.nea.org to find out more or PM me if you have questions.
  23. :update: For those of us who are members of the NEA and are trying to figure out how to pay for this procedure, we can get personal loans and lines of credit through the NEA right now with the lowest APRs I've been able to find in the past month and half of research! Go to www.nea.org to find out more.
  24. :update: I finally found an acceptable loan and was apporved yesterday afternoon. I will be contacting Precision Surgery this morning and finding out what all I have to do to get this ball rolling!!!! If anyone out there is a teacher and trying to figure out how to afford this, members of the NEA can get personal loans and lines of credit with the lowest interest rates I've found in the past month and half!:clap2:
  25. Welcome priss! I've been doing the liquid diet for a few weeks now, and I pour the slim fast on ice and that seems to help. I'm not banded yet, just trying to prove to myself that I can stick to the diet...and hey, why not try to lose as much as possible while I'm financial limbo for the cost of surgery. Neither of the loan's APRs were acceptable, so I'm still looking. It may take me a while, but I MEAN to do this! I'm trying to be patient...trying. Maybe, a whole pile of $ will drop from the sky and help me out! I see why folks go to MX to get this done now. I really like Drs. H & K, though and I just know I will figure out how to use them. Y'all keep hanging in there, I'm rootin' for ya!
