  1. I was a size 4 seven years ago and now need Lapband so I know both sides of the fence. Thinner people are definitely without a question treated kinder. It goes from the airlines which are the worst offenders down to the waiters in restaurants. That is one of the main reasons I want to get thin again is I miss that treatment! I notice especially when eating out that you order and people around you look at you as if to say "she is eating dessert". Such a bias!!!!
  2. Has anybody heard or used Advocare meal replacement shakes? I am confused in this area. Thanks bunches.
  3. Reading the comments is scaring me. I am getting banded on May 17th. It was my understanding that you will basically always measure food and the lapband helps suppress the appetite. Reading this, it looks like everybody is really hungry and struggling with weight gain. Does the band not help???
  4. There with you. I am the 17th
  5. The cup of soup sounds like a great idea. Is that one OK to use? I don't know anything about broth.
  6. I actually like Greek yogurt. Took me a while though. I use plain fat-free and add a little vanilla and splenda. If you are allowed those two items, it is actually pretty good.
  7. I love "Unjury Protein Powder". Does anybody know if that is acceptable. Very high quality protein powder and I mix with skim milk and ice. The Nutritionist said I need to do shake replacement meals because they have more than just the protein powder, but I could add the protein powder to the meal replacement to give it more protein. I just have a lot of that powder because I just really like it anyway. I tried looking for the Carnation Instant Breakfast meal replacement and didn't see it.
  8. I should also be the beginning of May. I have to meet with the psych and attend the four hour seminar regarding diet, procedures, etc. I'm with ya!!!!!
  9. I am so excited! Had my nutritionist meeting, psyche this week, four hour seminar and then can schedule. I am self-pay so don't have to hassle with insurance company - thank goodness. I have a large appetite and so hope the surgery will help. Sort of worried about the pre-op diet, but if others can do it, I feel I can. I am a little competitive so that may help. LOL. I should be able to schedule for May. I am a little confused after reading some posts, when you first get the band does it not have any liquid in it??? Do you lose weight when you first get it or does it have to have a fill? Thanks so much.
