  1. A fellow Texan, same surgery, same surgeon. Boy, do I need to pick your brain.
  2. I am ready. I'm teasing about anything else. I would go tomorrow if they'd let me. I did sign onto myfitnesspal, but honestly I don't do well guessing what the calories I had were. For instance I had a large cup of homemade soup. It had grown beef, tomatoes, celery, onions, green beans, corn, and small pasta shells. Measuring cup wise, it was probably 1.5 - 1.75 cups. I have no idea what to record for that.
  3. oh, come on! I shouldn't suffer alone!! Actually made a big pot of soup yesterday and had a big cup full just now. I'll need something else before the evening is over, but today have had 3 bottles of water, a shake, 2 cups of coffee, and a mondo cup of soup. Will need much more water, and maybe some yogurt or something this evening. I'm not hungry, at all.
  4. For me, iBand (banded plication) is the best of both worlds. I too thought I wanted the sleeve because a friend has it, has had for 5 yrs, and loves it. But... my Dr is a band patient and maybe that's why, but he prefers the band.
  5. My husband and I are Herbalife distributors, and we've done the shakes for months at a time and actually lost quite a bit of rate on them, but then we "fall off the wagon" and it all comes back. So I'm not disappointed in having to have 2 shakes a day, they're good and we like the flavors available. My nutritionist OK'd them for me. The worst part is when I make them the way I like them, there is too much volume for a banded person. So I may have to concentrate them or buy something different after surgery. But right now, while I still want more volume, they're great.
  6. hahaha - you know you could start your shakes a couple of days early, and be "on your way" if you wanted to. I am in Texas, going to Fort Worth Lap Band, Dr. Adam Smith.
  7. so.... are you guys telling your friends and neighbors about your surgery? I'm unsure if I want to or not. I don't want to be judged on my success, but then I don't think the people that matter to me will do that. I'm more conflicted about telling than I am about surgery.
  8. I'm the 18th too, SashaWLS. I'm not having the anxiety yet. Although you'll notice I'm on here instead of working, so maybe I am and don't know it. AND there are tornados all over the place here in our area and I'm not watching the weather, I'm researching lab-band. HMMM Started my pre-op diet yesterday. Had a shake for lunch today, will be having soup for dinner. We can chat it up and keep each other calm. What is your pre-op diet like?
  9. Got my insurance approval, started per-op diet yesterday - 2 protein shakes a day and one soup. Surgery scheduled for 4/18/12 OH, and I committed the ultimate sin yesterday too. I had my appt, had to run by the office first, so I grabbed coffee and headed out.... Drove for a hour in traffic, got there. Had our one hour group class. ( Someone asked about having Easter dinner - so the instructor said she'd give us ONE meal to have other food, but not to go crazy. Well now, lets think about this... Can we reallly be trusted to not go crazy? Although certainly not everyone, in every case, but as a rule we don't restrict ourselves well, thats how we got into this in the first place. ) Left the class, went to the office - didn't have anything in the way of a shake or soup there, so I waited. Got home, husband had a shake for lunch so he didn't want another one for dinner - kicked around at home, went to the store, bought the stuff to make a big pot of soup. By then the coffee I'd had a 7AM had worn off hours before and I was starving... So I had TWO big bowls of soup, last night after 8PM. I know better. All day I kept telling my self that going all day without eating was a mistake. I know all the rules - yet....
