  1. Congratulations on your surgery Rebecca!!! Wow a week and a half on liquids only? I only had liquids for a week and then I was told to go to puree foods and my doctor said to just cut meats into tiny pieces and chew chew chew! I know all doctors give different directions, considering that every book I have read gave different time frames on the Post-Op diet. One of the things that really helped me during liquids only was beef and chicken bullion. Popsicles were great too! I also had Arctic Zero ice cream. My doctor also allowed apple sauce during the liquids only week. How much longer do you have on liquids only before you move onto puree foods?
  2. You should probably call your doctor or nutritionist, maybe they can give you more information or suggestions. The only thing I can think of is that you need an adjustment or that you are working out and gaining muscle which can cause weight gain or no change at all.
  3. How long do you go between eating? If you feel hungry in less than 4 hours after eating, I'd say you need a fill. Call and talk to your surgeon.
  4. It's not all that bad, I promise!!! I had my surgery done on April 10th. I went into the hospital at 7am and I was home by 3pm. I felt more pain in my shoulder and lower back from the gas they use to make your tummy bigger, than at the incision sites. Make sure you ask for ice packs in the hospital if they don't give them to you automatically, the ice really helps!!! Also, make sure you have a bunch of 100% fruit juices (no sugar added)...those helped a lot too during the liquids only part. I wish you all the very best!!!
  5. I've only told my immediate family and really close friends. All but one were very supportive and the one that wasn't told me she thinks that I'm doing the WRONG thing and she knows that I will fail! After all of her put downs and negativity I ended our friendship and have been very happy ever since. Other than that, I just tell people that I'm watching my calories, eating high Protein foods, low carbs, and very low sugar, and working out! Just remember, YOU did this for yourself, not for anyone else. I wish you all the very best in your journeys!!
  6. Congratulations on taking the first step! You are already on your way! I wish you the very best in your pre-op and post-op journey!!
  7. Thank you so much I wish you the best of luck on your June 11th surgery. It will be here before you know it!
  8. Hi! Thank you, as the days go on, I'm finding it to be easier and easier. I can't wait for my surgery date. Only 5 more days to go!
  9. Hi Everyone! My name is Jenna and I joined www.lapbandtalk.com yesterday but didn't have time to introduce myself. I am on my 5th day of Pre-Op liquids only and I'm doing GREAT! I'm already down 8.8 pounds. I'm still in total shock!!! My surgery is in 6 days and I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I know that I'm in good hands though because my surgeon is amazing. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I look forward to posting more on the forum and meeting my fellow lap-banders. Hope everyone is having a great day!
