  1. Well- update for me-- guess what-- I have FINALLY started to exercise- mind you it is walking my dog, maybe half a mile- but alot of it is up hill--- this is my first step to loosing the weight!!! I have also been watching portions and trying to focus on protein- which I hadn't really before. NEXT is a fill. I am on my way and feeling great. I will say that I do it right when I get home from work- otherwise I won't do it- I guess I am even happier that it is already dark- so no one can see me huffin and a puffin
  2. Don't worry we are all in this togerther- for support. Also my deepest demon is that I had surgery 3 years ago and haven't lost 1 pound!!!! SO I know that things have to change- I have changed my food amounts, but there has to be more. I plan on dedicating myself to make the change for exercise, I just know that I work long hours- so it will have to be a COMPLETE committment. If you ever need to bend an ear- I am here
  3. I have a question for you. I have PCOS- BUT have had a hysterectomy due to all the issues AND I have the band. I read online that pcos does not leave cuz you have hysterectomy, that there is insulin problems- BUT I have't taken any medicine for my pcos at all- should I look into that? The reason I am asking- having issues loosing weight and thought that might be part of my problem. I will have to make an appointment to see my doc- to get a fill- maybe that will help too Thanks
  4. Well it sounds like we are just alike. I wish that I had some words of wisdom for you, but I don't. The best advice I heard was to start making changes slowly and then add on to them. I have about 6cc in a 10cc band- I do have some restriction- mainly bread- which I have cut down on. I HATE to exercise- so you have one up on me, but that will be changing in the next 2 weeks. I am afraid of going back to the doc, because I am afraid of what he will say. Another tip that I heard was- make a pot of chili, put it into one cup versions- freeze it, and when it is time to eat- heat it up with non fat sour cream and cheese- and if you want have 4 tortilla chips with it for lunch- lunch is done for the whole week PLUS it has good protein. If you need someone to vent to- I am here- I am in the same boat, just fed up and ready for a change!!! I'll let you know how it goes.
  5. CanaryQueen- Well to be honest it sounds like we are kindred spirits. That self distruct button is still being pushed here, BUT I have decided enough is enough. I just had foot surgery myself- so it has been fun . This thread really is a great site- I don't get to visit as much as I would like- but the support is awesome. The best advice that I have been given- is to do a little at a time to start. My biggest challenge is exercise- once I go back to work, I feel as if I don't have the time- I get home and I am bushed- but I need to start small and add to it. SO that is what I am doing as of now. Keep in touch and hopefully we can win together.
  6. Hello- I would like to say hi and I am back! I have been going through alot- personally and professionally- so believe it or not- I gave up . I was banded 2 and a half years ago and haven't really lost anything. I do have some restrictions- which is a plus. BUT I know that I need to do more about it. I had to have foot surgery- so I will be out of work for 6 weeks and I thought that this would be a great time to try to jump start myself, by focusing on food- can't do the exercise yet- but I think first things first- food. portions and kinds. I am bad because I like to graze--- I know :tongue2:--- does anyone have a tip on a good nutrious snack- that I can have? Also while I am out, I will go back to the doc, for a visit- get another fill. I am going to be visiting this site alot while I am out, to look for inspiriation- which I can say that I have found . It is SO nice to know that I am not by myself and there are people out there would are struggling and know how I feel- sometimes you feel alone. Any tips, advise, or recipes- greatly appreciated.
  7. Hello- I would like to say hi and I am back! I have been going through alot- personally and professionally- so believe it or not- I gave up :tt2:. 8. Pellman- I would love to know the secret to not drinking with meals- I am BAD at that. I wish that I had the will power not to drink with my meals. I have always had a glass of tea with my meals- and I am finding it hard to quit. Kind of like a crutch- if I am not drinking I feel weird. I am not the perfect person to answer on anything great that I have done. To be honest I need to exercise, not drink with meals AND schedule my next fill- I am hoping that will give me the kick in the butt I need to behave- good luck
  9. Hello All!!!!!! Well I have finally checked back in on the site- have had MAJOR issues at home- but I am still struggling with loosing weight. Had my last fill- have a 10cc band and I am up to a 6 fill. SO I need to make another doc appt AND control my munching fits- I am addicted to cheetos!!!!!. I have a south beach diet book- so I am trying to find better snacks for me. I have come to the conclusion that I will have to give up bread totally. It just doesn't go down that well. . SO gotta find other things. I haven't lost much weight- I was excited my clothes that I normally wear were getting loose- woohoo- THEN I weighed myself, I had gained 2 pounds:mad2:. SO here I go again. I'll let you know how it is going
  10. Thanks Candy and Wishes- I called to make a doc appt today- to get a fill, I have to fax the new health card and then I am ready to get my fill. I will definately take your words of wisdom and start all over. I have a south beach diet book- that I need to read again- I think it has good food ideas in it. I am going to start an exercise program- I will have to start small and work my way up, but I am doing it for myself!!! I'll keep in touch so that you can know how I am doing- Thanks for being there Susan
  11. Hello- I am totally depressed and discouraged with myself :cheers2:. I was banded in May 06 and I haven't lost ANYTHING!!! Mind you I haven't been a good girl and get filled as much as I should. I got back on track last Aug- got 2 fills (total of 4) and need to go back- but I am SO embarrassed that the doctor will call me a lost cause:blushing:. I do eat less than I used to- BUT I know I need to exercise too. It is just that getting motivated is my deal. Any tips, should I take caffenine pills? I work long hours 50-55 a week so when I get home, motivation is an issue. My husband likes to think that to motivate me is to complain and tell me that I got the surgery for a reason and now it looks like a waist of time. I am a slow looser that needs a friend- so if anyone wants to give me some advice I WILL appreciate it. Susan
  12. Thanks for that feedback- I am willing to try anything-- I'll let you know how it goes.
  13. I am glad that someone cleared up the pannus thing- I was confused! BUT great tip on using deortarant there- I started 4 days ago and I feel AWESOME!! I have always been self concious of that- THANK YOU!!!
  14. Hello to all!!! Great to see this thread! I am glad to hear that there is hope for me to loose weight!! I have a question though. I had a fill 3 weeks ago and have noticed that my bowels have changed- I know not a fun topic- should I call the doc- or is this one of those take a stool softner and you'll be fine. I know that it maybe a stupid question, but I have never been constipated before. Other than that I am refreshed and loving the energy that you all give off!! Thanks Susan
  15. I had my surgery at St. Alexis- but I went through Dr. Van Wagner- he is great!! The seminar I went to was more geared for lapband. His office is great. If you want any info just email me- joeboo_riverrat@yahoo.com Susan
