I am not a happy camper. I was sleeved on Dec. 30th 2011 and up until a couple of months ago I had lost around 110 pounds and was still losing. I then decided to start a different type of birth control and I chose the Depo shot. I had heard that weight gain was a side effect but I thought maybe 5 pounds at the most. Well, I've now gained 12 pounds and I'm freaking out! I have decided to stop the shot but I'm sure it will take awhile to get out of my system. I'm just really bummed because I was on a losing streak and now that's all messed up. I worry that losing the weight I've gained will be harder since I'm further along on my WLS journey. Anyway, I just had to vent my disappointment. Thanks for reading.

Oh my gosh. I've heard about possibly 5 to 10 pounds but I never imagined more than that.

Yes make sure you take your six month supply of it. I'm one year post op and that's what I was instructed to do by my surgeon. In my opinion, it will help you down the road with any heartburn issues. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Last Dec 2011 I had my sleeve surgery. So far, I've lost 100 pounds. And I feel great about that part. However, when I did my yearly labs, the results weren't so great in regards to what I was deficient in. It was a lot. And that's because I lacked taking my Vitamins on a consistent basis. As the nurse told me -the labs don't lie. My question is this: for those of you who are one year or more post surgery - how good are you at taking your vitamins/minerals? The nurse made me feel scared that if I don't start being consistent with taking the vitamins that I will have long term issues in the future. My periods are lighter and don't last and don't last as long since I had the sleeve.

I've read so many threads about getting below 200 but I'd never thought I'd get to experience it. Wow - what a cool feeling! Just had to share. Hope everyone continues to rock their sleeve!

I completely understand what you went through. Being able to wear a seat belt comfortably on an air plane was one of the things I was looking forward to. It'll happen soon for you.
