Any Sleever's from NY?
What date did you start Lilu? How long did Affinity have you wait? I was going to go with Affinity when I first needed to pick but Methodist didn't accept it, and at the time I was having my son and that was the hospital I was going to. They treated me good.

Could I Be Added On To A Relatives Insurance?
Okay, so you know Im counting down until I get to see my surgeon. I have also thought about the possibility of not being approved or a long weight time with my insurance. I have an aunt that has good insurance, and was wondering if I wanted to switch to hers (assuming they allowed the surgery of course) how long would I have to be insured with her insurance to be approved? Would it be a wait time? Would I even be able to be on hers? I do not know how insurance works. Btw shes insured via her job. Is it only a spouse thing? Thanks.

Sleeve And Gallbaldder
I made a post similar to this. Try searching gallbladder on here. It happens when the weight loss is rapid WLS or not. There is a percentage of how many people usually need to have it removed. I believe it's 50 percent for RNY, not sure for sleevers. Also there is something you can take to help prevent it. Although it is not guaranteed. I also asked my doctor if you can live without it comfortably, and she said yes. However if I was given the choice for it to be removed from the beginning I'd say no, take the pills for the one year, and gross my fingers. G'LUCK.

Any Sleever's from NY?
I know of the doctor. Im just trying to see if I can have an idea of wait time. My insurance isn't telling me anything. They don't know squat. They said its up to the doctor to determine the wait time etc.

Any Sleever's from NY?
I'm in Brooklyn, waiting for my consult. I tried calling my insurance (Health Plus) to see if they could tell me how long weight management would be. No avail.

Question For People Who Not Insured Through Their Job.
No 401K. I think I'll just wait and find out. I called insurance, gave them CPT code and was told it was covered. We shall see. Thanks everyone.

Is It Time For A Tummy Tuck?
Someone on another site had such an amazing tummy after working out. You would have thought it was a tummy tuck. She had before and after photos including her some extra skin, and exercise alone made it look outstanding, and she's an older woman. I'm sure you are doing all you can do to work on it and not trying to knock down the idea, but try the exercise route first, its way cheaper. If you like, I can ask her what exactly she did.

Question For People Who Not Insured Through Their Job.
I'd like to know how much is insurance monthly for a person with one or two people? I tried googling it, and have came up with so many different answers and usually the companies want you to call and speak with them. They ask you questions first, instead of the straight answer. I want to know because I'm still waiting to see the doctor towards the end of the month, and I am not sure how long the wait for surgery might be with my current insurance, but I have an idea it will be six months, could be a year. I currently have a Health Plus. The last figure I saw online was something like 400 a month for one person, or something like that.

Vegeterian Sleevers, What Are You Eating?
I'm sure the same as before just less. My diet consists mainly of soy, or non soy meat alternatives with a carb side, and some veggies. Not as much as I should have but yea.. I do eat diary. I just can't shake cheese and yogurt. So what are you eating?

Hey Ladies! Anyone Lost 130 Lbs Or More?
I'd love to follow your journey as well as see pictures from start to finish. I noticed in the picture section, some of the pictures in a persons album isn't dated so I have no clue as to the start and beginning of their journey. Anywho, I am looking to lose 130 to 160 lbs, and wanted see someone who had about the same goal. I'm 282 now, and 5'6. How long did it take you? I can imagine it would take me about fifteen to eighteen months to lose that amount.

Anyone Waiting To See Their Surgeon This Month To Get This Started With?!
Ugh, I'm more interested in knowing how long I'd have to see a nutritionist as opposed to everything else. Ugh.. I'm counting down the days. I'm ready!

How Far From Goal Where You Before Weight Loss Slowed Down By A Lot?
My goal is to be between 120-150 lbs. I am 5'6, 282 now (about 12 pounds less since I started researching WLS.) I was lighter a few years ago, and a work out junky, and started to plateau around 198. I am sure it will be different afterwards, and I am sure it varies per person, but at what weight did the weight stop coming off fast? For me I'd guess around 160.

What Are The Main Reasons People Get Denied Approval?
So I'm guessing losing some on your own prior to surgery is a plus?

3 Months Out--What Life Is Like For Me
I'm not a sleever yet, but it's weird because potatos full me and I don't want to eat anything or have a feeling for wanting something sweet. However bread is the devil for me. I won't even bother with any junk food. I've been trying to lose prior to surgery, etc. and with that have been charting down what I eat, and OMG, pastries are like a drug, and it's a good think I can pinpoint it, and leave it alone.

Anyone Ever Lost Friends After Knowing You Were Getting The Surgery?
I guess my friends comment didn't really bother me because I knew where it was coming from. It's like I understand, less attention would be on them. so.. it's like whatever. No biggie. Now that I'm a mommy I don't go out at all anyway so I'm not missing out anything. I just can't wait for this process to go through and to really wow the pants off of her. It's crazy because I met her through modeling. Didn't really think that feeling of not being good enough was that strong. Shes very confident in shows, and in person. Oh well.I'm just counting down the days until I see my doctor. It's taking forever!!

How's Your Energy Levels?
Were you anemic before ? I'm mobile so I don't know of you have a weights ticker at the bottom, but did losing the weight help or is it pretty much the same amount of energy as before?
-
How's Your Energy Levels?
Do you have more energy? Is your energy the same, worst? I must say my energy levels vary. Some days, I'm okay, some days I'm tired. My iron levels are low so I take my iron pills as often as I could. Part of me fears getting sleeves might make it worst. I hope not.

Did Everyone Here Go On A Liquid Diet Before Surgery?
Exactly.

Did Everyone Here Go On A Liquid Diet Before Surgery?
I have a nice novel size amount of questions for my doctor. I want to make sure I have all needed documents as well as have all questions asked. So far thanks to sites like these I have gotten most answered. It also helps that I have a friend who has had WLS by the same doctor I am going to, so I get some info from her.

Did Everyone Here Go On A Liquid Diet Before Surgery?
Yea I read that if it's too large or some people cheat then they stopped the surgery. I'm not playing that. I just couldn't imagine doing that, and getting cut and being told "Go home." I have only had one surgery that was needed, so this is the first time I am seeking out surgery, ya know? So I can't slack.

Did Everyone Here Go On A Liquid Diet Before Surgery?
I'm going to, I see towards the end of the month. Just asking questions and getting answers from different people. I'm waiting for a person who went to the same hospital to see if I can get some insight.
