  1. This is a GREAT post for a newbie like me!! What you said really brought the idea of "green zone" home for me. Thanks
  2. Way to go!! Keep up the good work.
  3. Great job! You look great.
  4. That is AWESOME! Congratulations!!
  5. I'm 3 weeks post op and still get this type of pain. Can not wait for it to stop. It hurts!!
  6. Hi, I was banded on April 3. I'm on purees too but I'm only allowed 3 tbl spoons 3x a day of protien. (a little light mayo and season is okay) I've been eating refried Beans, black beans, egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad (using can chicken) and cottage cheese. I don't think I can put anything in the blender either. It just does not sound like I could stomach it. I've also been having 1 Protein shake as one of my meals. Sorry that I'm not much of a help.
  7. Hi I'm 9 days post op and I take several vitamines a day and I do not have a problem.
  8. I'm 6 days post op and I take all my vitamins/pain med in pill form and have no problems with them. I just take a sip of water with the pill and swallow. I've had no problems with them so far.
  9. YES! I feel the same way. I think all I'm doing is sipping water all day. I usually get about 40 - 50 oz but I have to really keep it on my mind so I don't fall short. Following the no water 30 min before a meal and no water 90 min after a meal is REALLY hard.
  10. I purchased low fat small curd cottage cheese. I did not need to puree it. I just made sure that I chewed until I felt it was smooth. The egg salad, I used 2 hard boiled eggs a small amount of light mayo, small squeeze of dijon mustard, little salt pepper & dill. I used an strawberry slicer and I cut the egg once one way than spun it to cut it the other way. Then I mixed it all together. I did not puree it just again made sure I chewed it so it was smooth.
  11. Great question!! Since I can only have puree protein, I've had cottage cheese and egg salad. This was my first day on puree foods so I can not wait to see what others are eating.
  12. I was told no staws for the first six months. Then I can try to use it. If there is no problem then I can contiue to use one. It is because a straw brings too much air into your stomach.
  13. GREAT JOB!!
  14. Congrats! I'll be banded tomorrow.
  15. Tomorrow is the day! I can not believe how fast two weeks went. Very excited but also sooo nervous!
  16. That is FANTASTIC!!
  17. I know it is hard and they'll be slip ups...forget about yesterday and focus on today. YOU CAN DO IT!! Your in the home strech now.
  18. Great job on the 9 lbs weight loss!! Glad everything is set to start your new life
  19. Sorry, I'm so new at this site and I'm trying to learn how to use it. It is going good so far. I was so proud of myself this weekend because we had my son's birthday parties this weekend and I did not even cheat! My main problem is the horrible calf cramping I get. I spoke with my Dr. office and I need to take a potassium supplement. It seemed to help the cramps but my calf is so sore. How are things going with you?
  20. I'm scheduled for April 3. Started preop diet on Tuesday and so far it is going well. I'm so nervous, scared and excited all at the same time.
