  1. I am in the same boat as you are! I was banded 3/5 and have only lost 12 lbs so far. Very discouraging, but the tips from other banisters has kept me positive thru it all. We just have to find the right combination of nutrition, exercise, and restriction and hopefully the weight will come off! Keep your chin up!
  2. This happens to me a lot! I am struggling with choosing the right foods to eat. It seems like just about anything causes that stuck feeling resulting in the severe chest pain. Unfortunately, I have had to bring foods up several times I was banded on March 5, 2012 and I am still trying to figure out the smaller bites, chew, chew, chew method. I find it easier to just eat soup!
  3. Nyri, I am right there with you! I was banded 18 days ago and I am hungry. I have only lost 6 lbs but I have not started exercising yet due to my hernia surgery. I get my first fill in 10 days and I hope that helps. I'm struggling with my diet and terrified that I will fail at losing the weight.
  4. My doctor said to do mushy foods starting on day 8 so I am eating soft stuff. My band was not filled at all when it was put in. I still have 2 more weeks until my 1st fill. Thank you all so much for your responses. It is so good to know others have struggled too.
  5. Was banded 9 days ago and did great the first 4 or 5 days but since then I have been hungry all the time! I have eaten so many things I shouldn't have simply because I do not feel any restriction now. I'm so disappointed in myself! Ugh! Has anyone else been through this?
  6. I had a hernia repair too when I was banded on 3/5/12. It has been misery! The pain of trying to burp or hiccup is unbearable and my abdomen is so swollen, I look pregnant. I called my doc on the 4th day b/c I couldn't stand it any longer. He gave me a prescription for Levsin and it has worked miracles! Now the only pain I have is gas and slight incision soreness.
  7. So much good information! I am 1week post op and I have cheated during the liquids phase too. I don't feel great about it but I am not going to let it get me down either. I struggle to get in all the protein and fluids each day. I had a hiatal hernia repair done at the same time as my band and that has been the worst part. Every time I eat anything I feel totally bloated! The doc said this is normal and due to the swelling from the hernia repair. I think I cheated b/c I really miss chewing and the texture of other foods. This band journey is for a lifetime so when you fall off the wagon you pick yourself back up and get right back on!
  8. I am sympathizing with every word you write about the left shoulder pain. I was banded on 3/5/12 and the most uncomfortable part has been the gas and shoulder pain! GasX helps some but most of the time I feel like someone is stabbing me in the shoulder with an ice pick! My doc told me this could last several weeks! Yikes! On the up side I have lost 7 lbs post surgery and I am happy about it. I struggle to get the proper Protein and fluids each day. My body is craving chewable food so badly!
