I went to Dr. Garcia in Tijuana and the cost was $5000 for everything except travel expenses. I definitely received the best care and it was worth every penny and the travel. This is what I could afford and would not change anything about my experience except doing it sooner.

I went to drug warehouse and got some large ouchless bandaids. The tape was tearing my skin up terribly. The ouchless bandaids worked good without the pain. Hope this helps.

The thing I remember bothering me the most was the sore throat. The surgery part was just some soreness. I was walking as soon as I came back to my room. It feels like you worked out really hard with situps and your abdomen is sore but no real pain. My throat was hurting terrribly though and did for several days.

I just had my surgery on the 7th and I did the same thing. I went from being sad to an I can do this attitude. It is an emotional roller coaster because of the addiction. I am almost 3 weeks out and I am finding it easier to eat. My energy levels were up and down and kind of still are depending on if I am getting my fluids in. I mourn food even though my stomach is not hungry your head still thinks you should eat all the time. I have cried and laughed and been excited about the weight loss. My hormones are totally out of whack. I have found my tastes have changed but for the better. I seem to want more healthy food (not that I do not miss the bad ones). BUT..... it does get better with each passing day. Do not let the food win the battle because it does not care about you lol. Take one day at a time. Some are good and some not so much but you will get there as well as I will. Good luck.

Who didd you talk to? Are you sure it was for Dr. Fernando Garcia? Go to obesitysolutionsinternational.com it should get you in touch with the correct people and it does state $5000 on the website. I just had my surgery and it was $5000.

I chose Dr. Garcia. He is $5000 and my experience was absolutely great. My surgery was on May 7th and I have done great. I would do it all over again. I did my research and have heard not one bad thing from his patients.

Yes that is Linda. She was my coordinator and she is great. She answered all my questions and was there when I had my surgery. There were 4 of us having surgery that day and she helped all of us. They have an office in the hospital as well where Melissa and Rosie are there to help at anytime with anything. They also came to visit us in the hotel the night before surgery and after we were released from the hospital. The hotel is also very helpful with anything you need. It is truly a great experience with very attentive staff all the way around.

Alighterme does use the Marriott because that is where I stayed and I originally contacted them. Alighterme and obesitysolutionsinternational and ready4achange are all with the same company which is obesitysolutionsinternational. There is a leak test done during surgery, then one the next day which you can watch on a screen, then one done again later which is a dye test. You will stay in the Marriott. I did.

Yes he uses the new stapler with 3 rows and he also sutures for extra security. The bougie is 32 and I sent you a message about the preop. He is a good choice you will not regret it.

I am also 3 1/2 weeks out and have the same feeling when I eat or drink too fast or too much. It is kind of scary but normal.

If you set a date I am sure that Dr.Garcia will honor the price quoted at the time you scheduled. You are not required to put a deposit down to schedule just pay it before the surgery. I had my surgery on May 7th with Dr. Garcia and could not be happier with my results. Good luck with your decision both are good doctors.

I actually gained the week after my surgery then I lost it again. I contributed it to the IV fluids and swelling due to the surgery. I wouldn't worry about it. It will come off again.

My daughter is also in great shape. She told me mom you cannot be smaller than me. I just laughed because the thought was just funny. She told me we needed to work out together. The difference between my daughter and my cousin is my daughter is willing to work on herself and not sabotage me. I also think it will bring us closer (if that is possible) and give us a common goal.

My experience with my family has been similar. I have a cousin that could benefit from the surgery and there were some kind of offending comments made when I got home from having the surgery. I went to visit her and her husband said I am sure you have something from Mexico left inside you from surgery. This was to imply that I received sub standard care. My cousin also immediately started making every bit of junk food in her kitchen for her and her husband to eat and then said "I am so sorry to eat in front of you. You must be starving huh?". It really hurt my feelings but then I realized while I am getting healthy they will still be in the same situation. It didn't even bother me that they were eating and it actually disgusted me to watch them eat so I guess the jokes on them. I just thought they would be more supportive but I guess I gave them too much credit.

I am doing great! I feel good and have lost 25lbs! I cannot wait to start on pureed foods Tuesday. I am missing chewing but other than that it has been a great experience. I could not be happier! How are you and your wife doing?

I am praying for you! I am so sorry you are having this type of reaction and pain. Are you by yourself? It does get better I promise. I had some pain at times and each day gets better. I am 12 days out and still have little melt downs. I hope you get better soon.

I am doing great. I feel stronger everyday. It is getting easier to get my liquids in. I am not hungry really. I want to taste things but not really eat them. My taste has changed. Things I liked before make me sick to look at now and I want things I never liked before. It is kind of weird. All I can say is walk, walk, walk, and then walk some more even when you go home. Walk on the plane on the way home. You will feel better. I was like Jeffmanion I couldn't sleep the first night so I just kept on walking. Congrats on your surgery and keep us posted. I will answer any quesitons you have.

I went to Dr. Garcia on May 7th and there was a girl that went alone. She was well taken care of by everyone involved. We all watched out for each other and made sure we all walked. You develop a kind of friendship with one another and worry about them. The coordinators and doctors are very considerate in the fact you will be alone. Do not worry you will be well taken care of.
