  2. I paid $5500 with Dr. Ponce de Leon
  3. I was sleeved on march 19 & i am down 42lbs. I thought it would be more but it is 42lbs I wouldn't have lost before so I'll take it.
  4. I had my surgery Mar 19, my stall started around April 9 and lasted until April 21, since then I have lost 5lbs in 5days. Trust me the stall will end but I do know how frustrating it can be. hang in there.
  5. Before I got this surgery I did tell my friends and family that I would look "weird" to them. They are so used to me being big so I had to get them ready, I am not there yet but hopefully I will look "weird" soon. lol
  6. I didn't use anything, I just rinsed them off in the shower and when they were totally healed I started putting bio oil on them. They are still pink but not an angry red anymore.
  7. Omar has been great because he was Trish's assistant and she trained him well.
  8. I don't know about Omar & Dr. Kelly, but I had my surgery with Dr. Ponce & Trish was wonderful. Have you considered Dr. Ponce?
  9. I am a hairy she woman, not really but pretty hairy for a chick, so I am not going anywhere near Biotin. It doesn't just target the hair on your head it targets ALL hair.
  10. I have tried green beans and I didn't have a problem.
  11. Good luck tomorrow, I hope it turns out to be the best decision you have ever made, and that you have an uneventful recovery. Alana Ps. Welcome to the loser's bench!!
  12. Where do I start... I am still in Tijuana at the hotel, i was sleeved monday night. Trish is my coordinator and I don't think there are enough words to express how sweet & caring she is. I went alone so having Trish there with me was a godsend. Dr. Ponce is an excellent doctor with an awesome bedside manner. He doesn't speak english but Trish is there to translate and I had no problems with asking questions. I got a dvd of my surgery and my swallow test/xray. There should be more talk on these boards about Dr. Ponce, most people talk about Aceves, Garcia, & Kelly but I think Dr.Ponce should be right up there. I was nervous of this journey but as soon as i met Trish in person and Dr. Ponce I knew I was in good hands. I write this as I sit in the beautiful Lucerna hotel in a king size bed with just a little pain, not much gas and am drinking liquids like a champ. If someone I love or even just know casually asks me about my surgery there are in for an earful about how great Dr. Ponce and his team are. Thank you Dr. Ponce and Trish for helping me change my life and being fantastic people who, when they are with you, you are there focus. I don't think I could have done this without Trish. Alana
  13. Yaaah Jess so glad to hear that you are doing well. Hope to catch up later when we are both home.
  14. Thanks guys, tomorro the drain comes out and i head over to the Lucerna. Maybe I can get some sleep there, cant seem to sleep at the hospital.
  15. So everything went well. And just like everyone says Trish is an ansolute sweetheart. I have pain especially where the drain is, can't wait to get that out tomorrow. Then it is on to the hotel where i can catch some beautiful sun rays.
  16. I leave on the plane tomorrow and have my surgery Monday afternoon. Can't wait, mervous, excited, anxious, hopeful, etc..... Gonna miss my 4yr old daughter like crazy though, never been apart more then a night.
  17. I am having my surgery on Mar 20 with Dr. Ponce De Leon. I am going alone but my coordinator is Trish and she is excellent. She is constantly in touch with me making sure I am ready and seeing how I am feeling. I don't mind going alone knowing that I have her there with me.
  18. Just curious who did Dr. Kelly recommend?
  19. I am on my pre-op 1 week liquid diet and my head is killing me.
  20. thanks Julie, It makes me feel so good about my decision when I see women that have done as well as you. There will be a VS near me soon so I can't wait to go in and try so "real" bras on not sport bras.
  21. I think you look fantastic. This is a personal question but I am going to ask it anyway!! lol. I noticed that you have bigger boobs? Did you keep these boobs after your weight loss or did you have plastics done. I am very worried about my boobs because they are big and I don't want them to turn into tube socks lol. Sorry if that question is off limits.
  22. Thanks guys, this is such a challenge and I haven't even left yet.
  23. Ok am I being tested??? In the last week My 4yr old daughter has choked on rice and I had to do the heimlich, had pink eye, had hives all over her body, & now she threw up all over herself and her bed. For frigs sake all this has to happen a week before I am supposed to leave her alone with my aunt and go to Mexico to be sleeved. Don't know what to do.
  24. Have you considered Mexico, I am having surgery on March 20 with Dr Ponce De Leon and it is roughly $6000. The only out of pocket expenses you will need is tips for the driver and maybe some food (?) drinks, etc.
  25. It's funny but mine lies to me now, it makes me think I am thinner then I really am so when I see pics or videos of myself I think holy frig am I that huge!!!!! I always had a positive self image and hope I can keep it after I have my surgery.
