  1. Good to hear you are home ..... Sorry to hear you had complications.... Every day gets easier...rest well now that you are home....take care
  2. Kelly - that is wonderful!!! keep up the good work...
  3. Thank you for asking: yesterday was 3 weeks post-op! i have completed my Clear liquids...my Protein liquids...my pureed foods and am now on "mechanical soft and mushy"... this menu until June 2 (1 month post-op) then i am on regular diet ... I have to admit, a little nervous about that... Have to make sure i MEASURE everything.....and i don't think i will add carbs back...they are my down fall.... I love bread, chips and Pasta... So instead of tempting myself i just won't add them back... Per my NUT, i am eating over 60 protein and eating between 600 - 800 calories ... Eating 1/4 to 1/3 cup food amounts... I have my next NUT appointment on June 2 - so i am sure we will discuss regular diet and i will talk to her about carbs... As of yesterday, 3 week post-op, i have lost 30#.... i am very happy with my progress... Today was first day of no loss, but no gain either.. .. because i have been on this site, i know plateaus happen... Not stressing because i am sure my body is catching up with all the weight loss... Inches are changing, clothes fit differently .... I am very happy with my sleeve... tjmom
  4. Jimmy - so glad you are home now...healing hugs sent your way!
  5. 3 weeks post-op today and have lost 31 lbs.... I don't get the old "hungry" feeling, i get a "empty" feeling about every 2.5 - 3 hours... I eat about 1/4 to 1/3 C and i am satisfied .... That feels so good, to have some kind of portion control... I do find head hunger sneaks in every once in awhile but since i was reading on here months before my sleeve, i knew it was going to happen... Its easier to handle it, sine i knew what it was... I have 1 more week of soft and mushy ... Next Thursday i get to eat a "general" diet....i have to admit to kind of makes me nervous .... Ok, it really scares the cap out of me! what if i mess up...what if i eat the "wrong" food (just cause i can) .. to me, wrong foods, are ones that got me where i was... (bread, chips, Pasta, carbs, carbs, carbs)... i am home alone every day... I want summer here, so i can sit outside in my wheelchair so i am away from the food... Harder to get into the house, so this could help... Wow, sorry about the pity pot talk, and length of this post, but i feel better getting it out in the open... Thank you all for listening... tjmom
  6. You look fantastic ! Congrats for reaching your goal...good luck on reaching the next one.... Again, you look amazing!
  7. Kat1...i am so sorry.....what does your doctor/nutritious say you are allowed to eat? .... there is also unflavored protein that you could mix with something else... Can you have sugar free jelly and pudding? ... what i had to do is keep my carbs under 40 grams a day until surgery.... I hope you are able to find something to eat.... Oh and tell your husband if he is going to eat those right now, he needs to eat outside or in the bathroom ... Might make him think twice...lol
  8. Njsharon : if you see this: how are you? been awhile since i saw you post....hope all is going great!
  9. You got me .... Yes sex life will/has to improve with less weight... Reading some of the other posts and ladies are getting pretty "rowdy" after losing some....come on libido!

  14. Kat1 .... I too started the pre-op diet early and i think it has helped me accept my food intake post-op .... Mentally maybe? don't know but so far i am able to handle my "head hunger" .... I am proud of you on the stop smoking..... It is NOT easy but do-able ... supportive hugs sent your way!
  15. Brandymarie ..... That is amazing!!!! what an inspiration you are. I am very proud of you...
  16. Speedy recovery and healing thoughts sent your way.
  17. Shortypants .... WooHoo !!! the days go by so fast... 19 days for me....lovin' it.
  18. 1- Going for a walk with my husband. 2- For my large stomach to be gone so all the pulling on my back will lesson so i may get off some of my pain medication . 3- to be able to spend "quality" time with my 7 grandkids, going to their sports functions .... My grandson plays high school football - his school is old and doesn't have wheelchair accessibility to the stands...so i have not seen him play...he will be a senior in the fall and i want to watch him play... 4- when my grandkids marry, i want to walk down the center aisle instead of being pushed in the wheelchair... 5- go back to our honeymoon spot. We have been married 5 years, i was already in the wheelchair, so i did not get to go on the beach or in the Water...we were on Maui .... My husband is very outgoing so no problem for him, he went scuba diving, snorkleing and walking....i want to play in the ocean with my husband.. 6- share the shower and/or bathtub..(save water...lol) 7. yard work- mowing and weeding 8- live longer ... smile more often ... feel good about myself ! there are so many, but i better stop for now...
  19. Kat1....there are times i feel the same....when that happens, i just use less liquid....yesterday i mad a chocolate one that was like runny pudding and ate it with a spoon...experiment, that is what i am doing.
  20. To make my protein shakes taste better i use the sugar free syrup that is used in latte's etc.....when i make a chocolate drink i add either caramal, ameretto, peppermint, or cherry......in vanilla i add some of the above or cookie dough, English toffee or raspberry .... Or instead of mixing them with water or milk, i will use Orange crystal light with the vanilla protein .... I am sure there are many other things to make them drinkable .... All you getting sleeved next week: good luck, enjoy your tool and smile, because a healthier you is now coming your way.... tjmom
  21. Glenda .... Good to hear from you...glad everything is going great... Enjoy your weekend ! tjmom
  22. Angellic ... Best wishes and stay positive! this is a great tool to improve your health .... welcome.
  23. Newfoundlove ... My NUT is Medina ....very nice, positive comments, listens (and hears) what i have to say... Day 17: Beautiful Saturday sunshine here in the pacific northwest! even though my body is still wheelchair bound, my energy level is improving....i can't wait until my body will allow me longer walking! NUT told me not to worry , that 3 - 10 minute walks was great too....(didn't have the heart to tell her "my walks" are about 2 minutes long). When reach goal weight will probably allow the total knee replacement happen.... Hugs to you all! tjmom
  24. Kat1.... little over 2 weeks and doing fine....start 14 days of "mechanical soft & mushy" foods....yay! Adding shrimp....yum ! had my 2 week phone appointment with the NUT today.... she gave me a high five and happy dance for my efforts ... Told her how i am taking : 1can chili 1 can refried beans 1/4 cup grated cheese 1/4 cup low fat sour cream Mix all together, place 1/3 cup into freezer containers and freeze.... When ready to eat one, just heat up in microwave to melt cheese.... That way i don't have to eat the same thing for 5-6 days in a row....nothing goes to waste...and i don't get tired of eating the same food over and over... I do this each time i open a can of something or make a pot of something or get a roasted chicken .... Freeze my portions ..... Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! ~tjmom
