June 26th!! After months & months of waiting, 2 denials, & an external appeal my surgery was finally approved!! I am so excited I finally got my date!!

I have only told my husband, my daughter, my parents, & my sister. I don't want everyone to know bcuz I don't want to deal with negative reactions or someone just waiting for me to fail. IMO It's really nobodys business what I am or am not doing.

I just got the mail & I seen a letter from the external appeals place & was instantly sick to my stomach. I was convinced this was my final denial for the sleeve. So I went ahead & opened it & it has been APPROVED!!!!!! OMG! I am beyond excited right now!! If anyone is going through this or wondering if it is even worth it, the answer is Yes! Fight for it! I'm so glad I did!! I was denied by Highmark because my bmi is not 50. But with much perserverance, research, proof, & appeal writing I GOT APPROVED!! WooHoo! Can you tell I'm excited?!?

Can you take them before bed? I haven't been sleeved yet but when I was pregnant I had to take my vitamins before bed. If I took them in the a.m. I was sick all day!!

Thank you!! Yeah I did but I already had 4 months done bcuz I had started going to my doctor to help with weight loss. It has been a very long process & the fact that I'm like the most impatient person does not help My insurance will cover the band or bypass but for vsg they require a bmi of 50 so I am now in the external appeals process waiting to hear back from them. Have you already been approved?

Not sure yet. I started all of this July 2011 & I'm having to fight with my insurance company. I'm hoping it's SOON!! I am SO ready!!

Someone else posted something about this last night also. I commented on that thread too but I'm gonna say it again. I may be more sensitive to the subject or sympathetic to her situation idk. Bcuz my mom also had GB & gained back a lot of her weight. But let us remember that we are not done with our journeys some of us are just getting started & until you walk a day in someone else's shoes you have no idea what they have been thru.
