Had a gastric band in 2006.
at my heaviest i weight 17 stone
lost 6 stone with gastric band but have had major problems which started in 2009.
Started with heartburn and progressed to acid reflux and this past year i have had 'drowning' episodes resulting in constant lung infections which have made me very ill all year. On Jan 6 2012 i had a band revision as it had slipped. it was repositioned and since then i have been 200% better.
My band has been empty since May 2011 and since then i hae put on 2 and a half stone. Still waiting to see if i can get follow up care on the NHS.
