Hello everyone, I started the pre-op diet today. My doctors office said to have one regular meal a day, like 4oz of chicken and green veggies. When I called the office to clarify the amount of veggies I could have a day, I was told 2 servings per day. What are all of you doing? Are you eating extra veggies or only a small amount a day?

Can anyone who has had lap band surgery tell me if the constant urge to eat subsides after surgery? My scheduled surgery date is on 4/26 and I'm afraid to fail at yet another diet.

Has anyone been told they must stop smoking prior to surgery? No one has mentioned it to me yet. I want to quit, but I'm just curious.

This is the first time I've ever posted on a message board so bear with me. I had my first appointment with the bariatric surgeons office today. I assumed it would be a long process prior to getting the band, however I should be getting it in April. I am on antidepressants and had general surgery 10 years ago and I suffered severe anxiety afterward. I'm worried about going through that again. I was wondering if anyone out there had similar problems and had any suggestions. Thank you
