  1. I got banded 3 days ago on the 21st. Two days before the surgery I was put on a liquid diet. It was horrible. I thought that once I got banded the hunger would go away if I just sipped some Water. The first 2 days I was in so much pain, it was kind of easy to ignore the hunger. But now I feel tired and have no energy and I AM STARVING. ANY TIPS??? PS: Can you eat a spoonful of creamy Peanut Butter to help with the hunger after 3 days of surgery? Please help!
  2. oh well...well i was done feeling like crap, so i bought a cup of broccoli cheddar Soup and had half of it. i should've gotten the loaded baked potato in hindsight lol. i ate it at 7:30 and i washed it down with some cranberry juice and Water and have been satisfied for hours now. i didn't feel sick and i'm not in a lot of pain, just the usual discomfort here and there that i'm sort of getting used to. thanks for all the advice people. oh, and check out my blog: http://skin-e-girl.blogspot.com/

    starting mushies too soon

Thanks for posting this, I am 4 days out of surgery and I am STARVING...last night I would've killed somebody for a spoonful of Peanut Butter or oatmeal or just anything that isn't a clear liquid. I'm tired all the time and have no energy and its making me cranky. How are you guys doing your Protein shakes?
  5. Are cream soups okay even 4 days after surgery?
  6. Two days out and I've changed my bandaids on my still mildly fresh incisions. Very little bleeding, and they are starting to itch a bit, which is a good sign they are healing. I still have abdominal pain and I feel like I can feel the band in my body when I breathe in deep. I skipped my Protein Shake today- not because I forgot, but because I keep looking at the powder and it just doesn't seem very appetizing mixed with water...stuck to Crystal Light Peach Iced Tea (supposed to be really good for your skin) but I got really hungry, but was able to ignore the hunger because my stomach hurt more. Went to work today, came home early because I was feeling nauseous. Will try and go back tomorrow, but I really don't feel like it. Things I'm looking forward to... 1. I've been perving out on this website (can be found on my blog http://skin-e-girl.blogspot.com/ ) because it has amazing photographs of food and most are very healthy. Its inspired me to start my own herb garden- which will force me to get outside and do some productive physical activity. 2. For the pain to finally go away fully and for quick recovery (no more scars, no more hard belly, no more feeling the band inside my body- I want to feel like its not even there) 3. I can't wait for this liquid diet to end in less than 2 weeks. My boyfriend says its really killing him to see me not eat anything and I keep assuring him I'm fine with just liquids and I can't eat solids yet. But I seriously can't wait to eat a spoonful of Peanut Butter or oatmeal...
  7. Hi everbody! I am Skin-E-Girl (or I'm about to be!) and I JUST got banded yesterday at noon by Dr. Pham in Tustin, CA!!! I am in a world of pain right now...my stomach feels swollen and hard and it hurts like hell to move. It feels like I'm getting kicked in the stomach constantly. I had a horrible time last night trying to sleep because I am a side sleeper and every time I tried to roll on my side it hurt too much. In fact, just laying on my back trying to sleep hurts me too. I hear lots of walking, heating pads, and sipping hot liquids help make it bearable and I'm hoping that by tomorrow I will be able to go back to work since I called out of work today. I had initially thought at the hospital that I would be fine to work the day after surgery because I felt no pain and everybody was telling me I did very well in surgery but little did I know that that was the result of the awesome pain meds my nurses had me hopped up on. Right now I would kill somebody to get some more of whatever they gave me! Despite this drawback, I keep telling myself that this isn't going to be easy, BUT IT'S GOING TO BE WORTH IT. Please follow my blog at http://skin-e-girl.blogspot.com/ Thanks!
